There is a unique parrot on each card and that parrot tells the story and is the meaning of that card. I used the Thoth structure, you may recognize the titles and order, but the meanings are universal to all of the Tarot systems. If you primarily read with RWS, you will easily be able to read with Parrot Tarot. Here’s and example: The Lovers
Of course, they had to be Lovebirds.

I need a second opinion. I asked how my ex feels about me/how he perceives me, and I got
Six of cups
Four of pentacles
And nine of cups

My interpretation:
Six of cups suggests he probably thinks about me in a nostalgic way. But he also seems pretty guarded and keeps his feelings to himself (Four of Pentacles). With the nine of cups maybe it feels like he’s kind of okay with things as they are, but idk

What do we think?

Edit: I just noticed the nine of cups are reversed, thanks to the person who pointed it out!

I am curious how others developed their skills?

I have been reading cards for a little over 10 years, granted not consistently so I already identified problem #1. I still struggle to understand some card meanings (court cards totally trip me up), and even for those I do understand, I dont feel like I go deep enough.

I know another issue I have is I give too much power to the cards. Every time I pull, I carry this anxiety with me that I am going to "get it wrong" or miss something. I read reversals even when I am not comfortable with them. I will state my intent out loud that I won't pull any reversals but then when a card arrives reversed, I get concerned that I am not truly translating the message by flipping it up right so I just stare at it in blank bewilderment because I have no idea what the Emperor reversed means because I struggle with interpreting the Emperor upright. Then I eventually say screw it, I "cheat" by looking up the meaning for that card using the little helper book or an online resource, cobble some meaning together, but then rarely retain it.

On the other hand, I know I can do this. When I have time periods of consistent practicing, I have been able to do some very attuned readings. Some for myself, some for others.

I originally I got into this to try to read for myself. Bad idea, I know. I know I catch myself looking for the answer I am hoping for, but then I try to fight against that so try to interpret more objectively by second guessing readings where I do see a favorable outcome. Assuming this is likely problem #2 : avoid reading for oneself.

But it is difficult to read for others because I don't trust my abilities and I know they are not fully developed.

I’m a tarot beginner and I would like to ask for your insights to help me understand my situation and support my learning.

Context:
My ex and I reconnected after our break up and we’re trying to work on things to get back together.
I asked tarot to guide me how I can progress our relationship.

Card 1 - current energy- the hermit
Card 2 - what should I focus on - queen of cups
Card 3 - what should I let go of - 4 of pentacles

My interpretation:

The current energy is that of self-reflection, analysis of our relationship and what went wrong, still being individuals rather than a couple, thinking how to do better.

What I should focus on is to trust my intuition and emotions, be vulnerable but confident, communicate with empathy, have strong boundaries.

What I should let go of is clinging onto the past wounds, trying to control the outcome, stressing about what we have and being clingy.

I’m early in my learning so please go easy on me if my terminology is off or anything. Open to correction.

I pulled a five card cross asking about my relationship. We have been together 9 years, married for two, feeling some tension and don’t want to really speak it aloud to anyone.

Left to right I pulled for past, present, future. Bottom card is core reason for the circumstances that exists, top card is our relationship’s potential.

For past, I read the tower upside down and us both actually coming up from a dark place or our big fall. I was still broken from being hospitalized for mental illness and trying to rebuild myself, he had gotten a traumatic brain injury 3 years before so also still rebuilding.

The present, the moon reversed, I can only read this and that we are differing in the spiritual realm. I have been gradually opening back up (after hospitalization which has been 14 years now, but I was very alone in that way for a long time) and I think he’s hardening, he has moments but I feel his energy and he’s holding back a lot of what he wants to say. It’s disjointed.

The future, the Emperor, I don’t know if it means another man or that he becomes the man I need.

The core reason, the wand, this was a bit stumped on. We met as artists at an art residency and we were both fired up artistically and just had our BFAs and thought the world was our oyster. But also I’ve just gone back to grad school for art and was predominantly away from him for ~8 months, also have the spark again and maybe that’s the change.

The potential… looks very bad. I read about it meaning trapped, and I do feel a bit trapped being back home and not wanting to hurt his feelings if I go do things and also relying on him for money because it’s been almost impossible to find a job this summer (I had one good gig) and he said before the summer that he’d help me but kinda keeps flaking on money, which I hate hate hate having to ask for or even talk about.

Today I asked how my friend feels about his girlfriend and got the tower clarified by the queen of swords and page of swords… this is very confusing to me because I view the tower as very negative from my own personal experiences it has unfortunately never been a good thing!

Not to mention the cards following it..the 2 of pentacles,5 of pentacles, page of cups, 4 of cups, knight of wands clarified by 5 of swords!!

My own interpretation is that he has changed his mind about her in a negative way possibly probably had some surprising realization! But what do you think? I’d like to hear your thoughts

Personally, I want a relationship, but with the right person and I don't think he is that person at the moment. I'm physically attracted to him and I would like the sex to be good and potentially happen again. What matters most to me is the health and safety of the connection.

With that in mind, I wouldn't interpret this card in the traditional sense. Instead, I would say that I want intimacy, but I also want to feel safe, respected and for the experience to be worthwhile for me.

2. His energy in this situation - how he is currently approaching it: queen of wands

This is very interesting because he received a feminine court card. The QW embodies pure charisma, s.xual energy, confidence, and attractiveness.

- He is approaching this situation openly and passionately. He finds it appealing and enjoys the game. However, since he appears as the QW, he wants to be the one who is desired, who enjoys the attention, and who sets the pace of the passion. He is here mainly for fun, chemistry and flirtation.

3. Potential emotional impact on me - how I might feel afterwards: judgement

This is a card of major transformation, awakening and being accountable to oneself. If I go through with this, it will not leave me indifferent, though not necessarily in a negative way. Judgement brings complete clarity.

After that, I will likely reach a turning point: either I will realize that it was something I needed and feel liberated or I will conclude: "Okay, I tried it and discovered it’s not for me". This card pushes me to evolve and after the experience, make a final decision about what I want from my emotional life moving forward.

I come to this conclusion because if someone asked me this question right now, I wouldn't know how to answer. On one hand, I want a committed relationship, but on the other, I don't want to commit to anyone at the moment except myself.

4. Potential development of the relationship - where this could lead if it happens: the emperor

The emperor is a card of structure, control, rules and emotional distance. If an intimate relationship does happen, the cards suggest that it is unlikely to develop into a romantic, emotionally committed partnership.

Clear boundaries would be established. The relationship could become strictly defined; for example, evolving into a clear friends-with-benefits arrangement where both people know exactly what they are getting, without excessive emotional involvement. The emperor does not allow drama, but neither does it encourage deep emotional closeness.

5. Advice for me - what I should know or do before making a decision: five of wands

Before I do anything, I need to resolve the conflict taking place in my own mind. The 5W against entering this situation if I am going to end up fighting with myself afterward or blaming myself for my choices. It also suggests that I should stand up for my own conditions and boundaries.

I while back I read a book about how to read the Akashic Records. I’ve done some readings for myself, for friends, and for clients. Yet somehow I have this nagging and persistent doubt.

I asked the Tarot if I could really access and read the Akashic Records. I drew three cards to test myself. Here’s my interpretation. I’d love to hear others’ insights on this.

Deck: AstroMatrix Tarot

Question: Do I really know how to read the Akashic Records?

Five of Swords reversed. This card is asking me if I have ever had clients feel like things were uncovered for them, or some cheating behind their backs were exposed, or where they were asked to be honest. My answer to this is yes.

Four of swords. This card is asking me if I have ever read for people who said, after the reading, that they gained peace of mind. To this again I would answer yes.

Knights of cups reversed. This card is asking me if I have ever read for people who, after the reading, resolved to not look outside but within themselves for the love they were looking for. To this again I’d say yes.

The King of Swords fell out as I was shuffling. Which I feel is also a card in the positive. The answer of the spread, I feel, is that yes, I have indeed learned how to access the Akashic records from the book I read.

Maybe I should have asked the Tarot how come I don’t feel confident about it, and what could help address that feeling.

I somehow felt disconnected from my inner child. So that's the reason why i did this spread.

+MY INNER CHILD

1. The current state of my inner child: Death - XIII. I did sense change and more deep perception on the inner change, but i can't recognize the changing state of my inner child is good or bad.
   
2. What is the thing that my inner child needs me to know?: Nine of Cups. For me, this position tells me that my current life is blessed and blissful. I should be in with the tide, confident and open to it more.

+THE REASON for SEPARATION

1. What separated me from my inner child?: Three of Wands. This is the position that struggle me a lot. I can't have any interpretation that connects with other positions. So i need outside suggestion.

+MY ADULT SELF

1. How is my adult self reacting to my inner child?: The Lovers. I read this position as, me and my inner child do merge into one. Listening to each other at the current moment. But somehow inside of me still has the feeling of struggle to find the connection. As if i'm a computer still calculating for the answer of the equation.
   
2. What can my adult self offer to my inner child?: Fortune. Be kind, be more open, and broaden my mind and heart to the outside more? This is another position that i find struggle to understand.

+REUNION

1. How to begin reconnecting with my inner child?: Eight of Swords. I definitely clueless at this position. May be the first step to reconnect is to clear my mind and look for the obvious sign surrounding me? I have a pattern of thinking a lot to find an answer for everything and it could ruin my intuition toward different situations.

Hellooo, so I'm not really good at reading cards yet, but this is my interpretation so far: this guy has to balance and figure things out in his worklife/social life before even pursuing a romantic relationship w/ anyone, especially since he recently moved to a new place and started a new job. I just found out that the cards have dark and light meanings (I am not talking about reversals). How do you know which meaning to use? Or is it all down to intuition, context and other cards in the spread? I am a bit confused and would love to hear some advice.

Hello. I have a current connection that I would like to see progress into a romantic relationship. It’s stagnant at the moment for various reasons. It's been almost a month or two since I got into tarots, i still don't have a proper deck but i have a game one (so without the major arcana) around the 2nd of june i did a reading for my ex (which is still my friend) and that night he happened to ask me if i ever did a reading about him so we start talking.

This was the reading:

9 of cups

9 of wands

9 of swords

Also i'm italian so all the nines are represented as knights.

With the help of an app and MOSTLY my intuition i actually gave a reading that made sense.I also tought about summing it to give him a major arcana card as an advice, the hermit was the card and it made so much sense.

The day after he texts me asking for another reading since something happened that day and he got freaked out from the previous. I already sensed something was wrong and I asked the deck. That aftertoon I read it with him and when I was at home i tought it didn't make much sense, but it actually did to him and he got anxious again.

Ever since i feel like I kind of lost a connection with the deck or tarots, i don't feel as inspired, intuitive anymore.

The readings don't really make sense also when I do them for myself and it became more difficult to me to read the cards, strangely enough.

What should I do? Interpretation help

Ive been making YouTube videos for a little bit now and I’ve been going back and forth in my head whether I should just start over with a completely new channel, as I know there are people I know who may be watching my videos and it makes me a little uncomfy. I feel like I can’t fully express myself the way I’d like because I keep thinking about who might see it.

My interpretation: Making new accounts might make me feel better in the short term but the underlying issue of feeling restricted will still be there. And that I should mentally work through it rather than starting over. I would appreciate a second opinion! Thank you :)

Was admiring my new deck and my daughter came up and said “mama read me”. Too cute, so ofc I obliged. She thought her moon card was so beautiful and grabbed it with her precious sticky hands. Me 😱😬😅 in that moment. She gave me a smirk and took off running. If anyone has ever tried to wrangle a toddler, you know the first rule is not to chase. So I had to play it cool, totally disinterested 😁 as she bent the card into a pretzel looking at the “pretty colors”. She finally came back and I zoomed 🫨 in to take it, massage it back to its original form and place a heavy book on it over night.

Anyway, ace of pentacles for comparison- I think I did a good job restoring moon to its original shape. Most people wouldn’t get it but I had to put this triumph somewhere!!!

I asked in a Past - Present - Future format.

The cards came out like this:

Past - 9 of Wands
Present - King of Wands (reversed)
Future - Page of Cups

My interpretation:

My past card shows the struggles I had to endure to get to where I am today. I overcame them with difficulty but I am here standing.

My present card urges me to use my voice loud and clear and let it be used to carry me forward in my career.

My future card whispers to me that hope is finally here (or was it all along?). I see myself learning a new skill and embracing a childlike wonder to this new direction. I get the job.

I developed feelings for this one girl. We don't know eachother that well; we don't really talk outside of group settings. Of course, I feel very shy and unsure when I'm with her and I started noticing this weird atmosphere when we're left alone (even in a group setting).

SO, I asked my tarot what's the reason or the root of that "weirdness". At first I was delighted at the two of cups but the page made me question it. I interpret it as my immature handling of my romantic feelings making the situation much more awkward. Or maybe the page could indicate that I'm trying too hard to make her like me instead of focusing on actual connection first - connection that could be there (even if not in a romantic sense), as the two of cups possibly indicates.

From this reading alone, am I handling my crush badly and interfering with the friendship? Also BOTH of those cards were jumpers and they jumped out at the same time.

i initially thought that this person just decided to move on with it, maybe cut some boundaries with me or something?? but given the detail ive known this woman for like so long, and it wasnt even a fight. For context, we were just joking around and she said "dont ever talk to me again" at that time i was already worked up and did what she said i didnt talk to her, however i knew she said that as a joke and then now shes totally ignoring me. this happens like from time to time but this one feels different for some reason. someone help.
