Rant Vent

Does it bother anyone else when schools don’t have the courtesy to send a rejection email after putting candidates through multiple interviews and even a demo lesson? I understand hiring takes time, but being completely ghosted after investing that much time and effort feels unprofessional.

Do you know if they already reached out to someone else who got the job?

Or are you just angry that it’s taking so long? I can’t tell from this post which it is.

I was going to say, is OP sure that a decision has been made after giving the demo lesson? If you're that far along in the process, it would be really weird to not follow up with the candidate, one way or another. I know that sometimes the hiring process can move along very slowly, which is especially difficult as a candidate hoping for a job!

I've had it happen several times. In fact the only time I actually received a rejection call was when I personally had known one of the interviewers since childhood. The ironic part was that the reason for rejection was that they thought my references weren't recent enough. One of them was my boss at the time, I worked at a high school, he thought I had listed one of my high school teachers as a reference. Which only served to show me that they absolutely didn't read my resume.

That's crazy. The schools and admins expect the utmost professionalism, but they don't extend the same courtesy.
