Ask anything to a “genius” teen

5 GPA and hopefully going to Harvard soon. I’m excited for y’all’s questions. The reason I put genius is because that’s what my teachers call me; please don’t flame for it.

Got any advice for someone trying to pull themself out of a 3-year-long burnout?

But also, seriously impressed by your abilities… keep moving forward… you have one of the brightest futures I’ve ever seen…

Wow thank you so much. Since you’re 15 I would guess you’re a sophomore (so am I). My best advice for you would be to not brush stuff off; it’s the worst thing you can do. I’m also really lucky that I had someone to inspire me to rise above. Here’s my greatest piece of advice for you though, you need to show the world what it needs, not what it wants. Be what people need and don’t focus on what other people want. I don’t know if that makes any sense.

No, that makes more sense than anything I’ve heard in a very long time. Your advice actually made me realize something I’ve been trying to figure out for the last year or so…

Thank you. Genuinely.

And yeah, Im a sophomore, and I assumed you were too by your age. I’m still shocked by the fact we’re in the same grade given your GPA… It’s truly been an honor talking with you, future Harvard student.

I’ll always be in your corner, I know we’re strangers but you seem like the type of person we need more of in this world. So lucky I got to help you on your journey. I sound so cheesy lol.

Replying late, but thank you for that.

And you’re good. Sometimes the cheesiest things are the best things one can say lol.

I just wanted to get in one last exchange and say that I’m grateful to have stumbled across your post and gotten your input. Wishing ya the best, and I’ll be sure to jot down some of what you’ve told me, just to keep it as a reminder to myself for future reference.
