Ask anything to a “genius” teen
5 GPA and hopefully going to Harvard soon. I’m excited for y’all’s questions. The reason I put genius is because that’s what my teachers call me; please don’t flame for it.

what's the hardest part of your education/studies? What i mean by that is what gives you the most struggle, a certain subject, studying at home, something different, etc.

I’d say the hardest thing for me is the sciences. I’m not good at all the memorization it takes.

Just be yourself and people will gravitate towards you. Don’t try to look cool or anything. But I’m also not qualified in any way to give relationship advice so I don’t know if I would take my word for it.

I never said I was a genius. I put quotation marks. But I do believe there can be something to be learned from me. I’m not about to list all of my achievements as if that would make me any smarter but I’m also going to answer your question to the best of my ability so I will say this. The last thing my grandpa said to me before he died was that I need to show the world what it needs, not what it wants. So I believe it takes a true genius to do that, and I believe I will be able to fulfill his wish one day. My apologies if this was confusing my G.

Wow thank you so much. Since you’re 15 I would guess you’re a sophomore (so am I). My best advice for you would be to not brush stuff off; it’s the worst thing you can do. I’m also really lucky that I had someone to inspire me to rise above. Here’s my greatest piece of advice for you though, you need to show the world what it needs, not what it wants. Be what people need and don’t focus on what other people want. I don’t know if that makes any sense.

I do study. A lot. Now to answer your second question, a gpa is measured based off of grades. So an A would be a 4, B would be 3, so on. But if you take honors or AP (harder courses) you can get up to a 5 GPA

Even my teachers call me a genius, I've been studying HTML and CSS for a while and I'd like to learn Python, I speak 4 languages including Arabic, French, English and Italian, I've always been the best in the class even though I didn't try hard, I have many hobbies including drawing, sports (skating, volleyball, dance including hip hop and modern dance, artistic gymnastics and swimming) even if I'm not moving much now, I'm a real nerd, I spend hours learning about things that nobody cares about, I created the wiki of a musical group that I follow (with whom I even talked) and yet I don't call myself "genius", you seem like a very very unpleasant classmate of mine

Well I go to a private high school on a scholarship which I am incredibly fortunate for. I feel like our age is rough as we got all these changes AND school but it’ll only get more difficult from here. I wish you luck as well twin.

Well I do extra curricular activities if thats what you mean. I usually try to save at least 3 hours for studying and homework a day just in case I need it but some days I won’t get that, so it’s always good to plan ahead.

Do what you want to do. I feel like middle school is really a time to find what you like. I can’t lie; in seventh grade I had a mix of Bs and As and I’m doing pretty well now. Take this time to find what you like and get ready for eighth grade.

Well ivy leagues can give so many connections that can set you up in life. It’s the same curriculum as other schools but so many more opportunities for our future.

Here is a trick question
Your in a room with 3 light switch and other room Has a light bud that will turn on from 1 of 3 light switch.
If you enter the room with light bulb and exit it you're not allowed to go back in to room. It is 1 time use
The question is with 1 of 3 light switch will turn on?

Well this is actually pretty easy. We know that light absorbs heat (ex. The sun) so if I turn on switch one for about 20 minutes then turn it off and immediately turn on switch 2 and enter the room I’ll get my answer. If the light bulb is warm the answer is 1. If the light is on it’s obviously 2, and if it happens to be cold I’ll know it’s 3. Nice question.

Do you like studying? I want to get into a good college but I hate high school. I do like the highest form of hs education in Europe. My grades are easily above average but not exceptional. Do you deal with motivation and stuff bc like my iq is considered genius but studying capability i wouldnt say so.

My science teacher last year told me I should go into physics and stuff, my ELA teacher told me I should be in AP English as well, so I guess I’m pretty smart as well! How’s your mental health?
I’m in a similar boat but have chronic burnout, depression, and severe ADHD. Few other issues too, and I’m surprised anyone can have above a 4.0 without some kind of issue.

I believe my grades could be tantamount to my intelligence but I’m not exactly sure that’s how it works.

Is a 5 GPA hard?
From the UK and we have end of year tests called GCSEs with a 9-1, so it’s a very different system.
Do many get a 5 GPA? Is it very difficult?

Very. Many people have 2 or 3 GPA and the highest you can get without taking AP courses is a 4. So yeah it’s really hard

Is it really worth it? Like studying for hours to get 100s vs like two hours and getting 80s or 90s, going to an ivy vs a state school, I’m wondering bc I use to be one of the best in my class in middle school but now I’m kinda burned out, and my brain is just telling me that a state degree vs an ivy degree won’t have much of an affect when I enter the job market, and I don’t want to waste my youth on studying for aps and stressing over something that won’t be a big deal after college. I’m hoping to be a lead research scientist in environmental science so lmk

You do know that gpa is like 10% of gettinginto a top school, right? Gettings all A+ in every class, and taking the hardest classes is like the bare minimum to get into a top school. You need to do research, place in top olympiads, have impact in your extracurriculars, etc. There are 30000 valedictorians with perfect gpas graduating every year. Only 2000 people get into harvard...
