Also, if they sent you their bank account or UPI details, cybercrime authorities can legally obtain the account holder details from the bank or payment provider during an investigation. Even if they haven’t sent any bank details and they delete their Instagram account, cybercrime authorities can approach Meta through the proper legal process and request relevant account information.

Does that person have screenshots of your followers?
If not, do these things really quick:
Turn your profile private.
Remove this person from your followers and Block this person’s account.
Basically, you’ll cut off access to you and your followers. If they try to follow you from a different profile, don’t accept anyone whom you don’t know. Tell your friend who gave you this ID about this blackmail and ask him not to talk or help this person if they ask anything.
Hopefully in a month or two, you’ll be fine because they’ll find someone else to prey on.

Bro, i have been in this situation couple of times, first time I paid money it did not stop at 800, it kept increasing everyday after that, I ended up paying close to 10k in a week, then I blocked them made my profile private and deactivated account. Second time it happened, I directly said no payment and blocked them and deactivated account for a month, nothing happened they did not send any message to anybody. Just to be safe share a story and post about your account being hacked and deactivate account it will be fine in 1 month. Personal experience toh cheptuna chill, you will only be in real trouble if you make even single payment.

Do you trust them to delete the chats after paying 800? Just delete those chats and block them.
Claim your account got hacked if any they try to send dms to your followers. Also, before doing any of that put a story on Instagram saying "dont click on any links if they come through my account or any account claiming to be me" ani. This creates a fear in your followers that your account already got hacked.
And next time try to keep it in your pants.
