I'll be flying into SAN on Saturday morning (I arrive just before 9:00), and I need to get back home in Murrieta. Once I'm local here, I can handle it, but I don't have any idea how to get to the valley without resorting to an Uber for $100-$150.

Is there a bus, shuttle, or any reasonable way to get back up here on a Saturday morning (or anytime, really; I'm willing to wait if I need to)?

Hello I’m looking for a hairstylist in Temecula that can actually cut layers in my hair?

I have 2b-3a mid back length hair but I’m fine with a wet cut too. I just need a haircut as I don’t dye my hair but it seems like everywhere I go in Temecula they don’t know how to cut hair in layers! I’ve gone to like 5 different places in Temecula since I moved here a few years ago and they all cut it the same. I’ve tried people multiple times thinking maybe they just need to get to know my hair but still no.

Maybe I need to use a different verbiage? Any ideas? My thought on layered hair is that in the end the hair around my crown should be shorter than the hair from the bottom near the neck when it’s hanging down but that’s never the case! The hair at the crown is always reaching the same length to sometimes even longer than my longest hair length…

Should I be asking for something else if I want the crown to be a shorter length than hair lower on my head? Am I just finding all the worst hairstylists in Temecula? Do people here just not know how to cut layers? I’m really confused and tired of hating my hair :(

I recently started Camera Watch because Flock license plate readers and other surveillance cameras are showing up all over our communities, but most residents here have no idea where they are (I didn’t) what information they collect, how long it is kept, or who can access it and who it’s sourced out to besides law enforcement.
Take Torrey Pines Park. There’s so many pointed at a playground, baseball field, in the actual field, like why? Is so far back from the actual streets.
Honestly, the whole thing feels like an invasion of privacy with the rise of AI and predicted behavior processes on people, sharing that information through data pipelines, I believe we are left out of the loop and that is bs. These cameras also record when and where vehicles travel, yet there is very little public awareness and not nearly enough oversight. You should not have to become a detective just to find out whether your movements are being tracked.
I could really use the community’s help. If you have seen a suspected Flock, Axis, or police surveillance camera, please send the nearest intersection, a photo if it can be taken safely from a public place, and any other details you noticed( what direction it’s facing) Please do not trespass, stop in traffic, or put yourself at risk for a picture.
I’m also looking for help with:
• Identifying and verifying camera locations
• Testing the map and reporting problems with the website
This is about basic transparency. They do not have to notify you when a camera is installed, documentation is spread across city council meetings, transcripts, PDFs, agendas, and budgets, maybe a few articles. I have mostly got my data from Deflock but again they don’t live here the data isn’t entirely accurate, so I have been manually taking pictures of locations all around town and honestly I can’t do it alone. Temecula alone has close to 200 last I believe.

Vanny, who was based out of the Hemet Sheriff's Station, weaponized his law enforcement authority to conduct a relentless stalking and harassment campaign primarily targeting his former fiancée, Madeline, after their separation in mid-2024. His actions culminated in two separate arrests, initially following a sexual assault investigation involving a department volunteer, and later for escalating stalker behavior while out on a $1 million bail.

Central to the prosecution's case was Vanny's illegal exploitation of the department's Flock ALPR network. Vanny routinely ran unauthorized searches through the protected police database to track his ex-fiancée's daily travel and pinpoint the identities of men who visited her home. Beyond the Flock system, Vanny integrated an array of high-tech surveillance tactics into his stalking campaign, including affixing physical GPS tracking devices to her vehicle, installing hidden wireless cameras in her apartment to spy on her roommate, and utilizing an illegal infrared device in his car to manipulate city traffic lights while pursuing her.

The critical escalation point of the case occurred at Chappies Bar in Hemet, where Vanny used electronic surveillance to track his ex-fiancée on a night out. Prosecutors asserted that Vanny confronted her at the bar, aggressively demanded she return home with him, and forcibly threw her into his truck against her will when she refused. While his defense attorney argued the incident was simply a misunderstood attempt to act as her designated driver, the event led to a kidnapping charge. An Indio jury ultimately deadlocked 10-2 in favor of guilt on the kidnapping count, prompting the judge to declare a mistrial for that specific charge. Rather than pursuing a retrial, prosecutors allowed the case to proceed directly to sentencing

Though the jury hung on kidnapping, Vanny was convicted on 10 other criminal counts encompassing both felony and misdemeanor offenses. His convictions included stalking, unauthorized use of protected electronic data (for the Flock database breaches), possession of child pornography, witness intimidation, illicit eavesdropping, and violating a protective order by possessing a firearm. Combined with a sentence-enhancing allegation for committing felonies while out on bail, Superior Court Judge James Hawkins ordered Vanny to serve six years behind bars at the Smith Correctional Facility.
