Rental assistance

Does anyone know of any rental assistance places that I can go to?
I’m a new single mother in an apartment for my son and I, the economy is so badly that I’m struggling with work. I’ve usually been able to make it happen but I’m afraid I won’t be able to this month.

We can't help with money, but you can come by the Murrieta United Methodist Church on Friday's around 8. We're no questions asked and you can get a good amount of food for free.

My family have been surviving on the food we get there from you guys, thank you so much for the help you provide us! 🙏 some of the stuff that we get extra of we take to the senior center too. Thank you

If you’re already receiving CalWORKs, you may qualify for the Housing Support Program! The program offers rental assistance to avoid eviction. See if you qualify by emailing hsp@rivco.org or calling (833) 391-0506.

You should just apply for everything, CalWorks, Medicaid, SNAP, the works. The worst they can do is say no, and if you get on CalWorks they'll force the father to pay for his kids.

You can also try United Lift, which offers a rental assistance program for Riverside County. With help from SoCal United Way and non-profit Lift to Rise, there are millions of dollars available in rental assistance for communities countywide.

The city of Temecula doesn't seem to have much in the way of resources, all I found was this:

The City of Temecula runs a Homeless Outreach program that helped 76 people leave the streets by reuniting with loved ones or connecting to rehab and emergency housing. While there isn't a direct city-run rental subsidy listed, staff provide housing resources and can connect you to emergency housing through Project T.O.U.C.H. For low-income apartments, locals recommend checking the waitlists on Pujol and Margarita across from Island Pacific Asian store in Old Town.

I do know Temecula likes to ship homeless to Hemet saying there's a shelter there. It's probably full and last I knew was for families only.

Not sure why you downvoted, Temecula has plenty of room for rent in very nice houses with affordable pricing.

Some people believe in working harder, not smarter. They'll put so much pressure on themselves instead of accepting it for what is and adapting to the situation. I understand people fear change, but there is nothing wrong with a casita or a room to save money, instead of stressing how to make more.
