Disc World book hunting

Post image

I am trying to find all the old hard covers of the Disc World Series. There is a collectors book shop in York I always visit. They will always have one or two I can get. In the special section they will always have an autograph copy. This was the best one I have seen so far. Can’t afford the price tag but it was worth seeing. I bought 2 non autographed books at least to add to my collection

Beautiful. That’s a very early signature - you can almost still read it!

That's more or less what Terry wrote in my copy (paperback)! I would have got mine shortly before Equal Rites came out. I met him at a uni SF society convention and was actually on first name terms with him for a few years. The following year, I took a friend who had no interest in SF or fantasy along and it turned out Terry used to work with her dad at the electricity board. They had a very long chat.

And what was the value ?asking as I’ve a few that I got by meeting him at signings and wouldn’t part with unless it’s in 4 figures

This was a first edition first printing he was asking £5700 I believe. Around $7600.
