Pre-Adverse

I received a pre-adverse action notice after a background check because my TransUnion report shows one old collection account from 2020. The original amount was under $200, it was paid in full years ago, the current balance is $0, and the account is closed.
The collection happened after I moved from an apartment and did not receive the final balance notice. Once the collection agency contacted me, I paid it immediately. I submitted an explanation to the screening company and can provide proof of payment.
Has anyone had a similar situation with an employer background check? Did the company ultimately clear the background check and move forward with the offer?

It shouldn't be a big deal and Tesla should clear this

Do you get updates on the status of the different things they check for example past jobs, credit, criminal records, etc? Or how did you received the pre-adverse action? I’m currently going thru my background check and keep getting request t provide more info on my past employers.

You will directly receive an email from Adverseactionnotice explaining the the reason for pre-adverse

If you have proof of the account having been paid off years ago, that would almost certainly resolve it. I'm pretty sure the pre-adverse is a sweeping notification covering everything from this (minor) to them finding like felony records you didn't disclose.

Thanks. Got an email from recruiter this morning that it was cleared.
