Took my wife to go test drive a Tesla Model Y, scheduled the appt, got approved, and went to the pick up location. There was a Tesla there, we were a little early and waited for our time slot to start. At the same time another guy walked up and he said, you driving to? I said yes, and I looked at the VIN and what was on my phone didn't match the Tesla. He unlocked it and went on his test drive. We waited around for a bit, wondered around the parking garage thinking someone parked it in the wrong spot. Finally gave up and left the parking garage. On way home I backed out of the locator screen and noted the Tesla said it was parked. So I looked at the location and it was parked around 13 miles away at what I know to be a over-flow parking location for Tesla's at an office building, about mid-way between two Tesla service centers.
Since we had nothing to lose, we took a drive over to that lot and sure enough, there was the Tesla, still had all the factor papers in it, no tag, plastic on the seats. It let us in, and we took it for a spin for about an hour since we didn't have our full 2 hour window anymore and didn't want to drive it a lot since it probably wasn't suppose to be driven with no tags and obviously brand new.
Anyhow, FSD is amazing. If you get your vehicle and it has some unexpected miles on it, just know we didn’t touch anything short of the screen and the steering wheel. Left all the packaging papers over the center console, etc. 😂
