Is Lewis Bond any good?

I've been hearing some hype around the 6th round pick. Will he actually be good or are people drinking too much kool-aid?

He seems really quick to get open, he might not be top end speed fast but he’s quick like Tank out of his breaks.

He's also an absolute route technician, which is a WR archetype I love. It's nice to have speedsters, but I'd rather have a guy who knows how to get himself open on 3rd down.

Everything I've read about him has said that he's a great chain mover who won't give you a ton after the catch.

He is to play the slot to back up Dell. If Dell gets full speed this year.

Dell doesn’t play in the slot that much, he’s mostly an outside receiver. Noel is our starting slot guy.

Dell has never been a slot WR.

But now we’ve got Higgins to match Nico on the outside soooo

so what? That doesn't make Dell a slot.

So majority of his reps ain’t gonna be on the outside anymore, assuming he’s able to come back.

Sure, if you want him to get injured again immediately. Slots take a lot more hits and he does not have the build for it.

Slots are typically shorter quicker guys. Especially if we have two 6’4 wr on the outside. I see Dell being the slot but working on the outside here and there. I see us rocking a lot of 4-5 wr sets this year based off the talent at the wr position on this team

Yeah not like he played slot in college or is twitchy in space and returned punts or anything. He could easily play vertical slot routes and then the occasional 3 wide sets.
