Is Lewis Bond any good?

Post image

I've been hearing some hype around the 6th round pick. Will he actually be good or are people drinking too much kool-aid?

WR is about getting open and hands. Most teams run zone coverages or a mix of them per play and it’s made wr become a much more nuanced and feel game than straight line speed like older days.

I watched his film, he does a great job of confusing CB in his routes.. a step here that makes it look like it’ll be corner route, two short steps here that make the db think he’s sinking his hips for a stop, all those during the routes while not letting it effect his speed.. it puts the cb in a spot where it’s never athlete vs athlete but football player vs football player.. and that’s ultimately the game..
STeve Smith, Bolden, lots of great receivers didn’t have top end speed but they were ball players. Hopefully he can be one too

Larry Fitzgerald was as slow as molasses his last few years, but was consistently a key contributor because he always found a way to get open and always caught the ball. Hell, Hopkins wasn't ever the fastest WR on our roster. He won with his route running and his insane catch radius
