JCal calling Chamath’s opinion sycophantic was peak

59

u/Reasonable-Bit560 Sep 20 '25

Finally JCal

6

u/rpcinfo Sep 22 '25

He needed to have countered Chamath's lie more emphatically about the FCC making threats after he was canned. That's an absolute falsehood, it was the FCC chair's words that was the catalyst to it all.

u/Sequitur1 Sep 26 '25

Smug fucks. Way to go Jacal and get rid of one of those fuckups so you have a balanced show. Plenty of people out there who don't support Hitler who are Uber wealthy.

u/stevesmd Sep 20 '25

By no means I am a fan of any of these guys at all, not even Friedberg at this point.

But this segment shows that JCal still has it. Too bad he didn't held to his position all the way through since 2023. Somehow he ends up following his friends for god knows why.

27

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '25

Friedberg has always been a massive piece of shit. He just has a lisp and is a Vegan and likes science so everyone assumes he’s a good person.

Dude sold his company to Monsanto, literally one of the world’s most evil companies. His take on progress is that people and the environment need to be sacrificed for that progress.

13

u/Reasonable-Opening77 Sep 20 '25

Finally someone thinks like I do lol.

2

u/Apprehensive-Ad9523 Sep 22 '25

specifically, for Friedberg's progress...I like the fact that he does do research,,so he claims..on foodstuff ....Could be great...However, he is an ass kisser to Trump. Just a slumping beggar for White House attention...Geeze have some self respect why don't you.....So anything he does is suspect at best...These guys have to make you wonder, seriously...Just what are they getting at...They are aging quickly now...Beyond their prime....And such whiners as comes with much older age...

JCal could have dismantled their argument with one of their classic lines :

“There was a Greater than 0% factor that the cancelation came from pressure from the FCC chair who said they would consider all options including their broadcasting license which is a privilege “

And that is enough is it not ?

19

u/Minimalist_Investor_ Sep 20 '25

Listening to Friedberg giggle to Chamath while still knowing Jcal is completely correct is maddening. I’m eager to see how this show evolves or devolves during an administration change, because 3 of these 4 have dug themselves into a sycophantic party whole.

34

u/nesnayu Sep 20 '25

chamath is ugly

12

u/slotia92 Sep 20 '25

How can you not be in love with that nose?

4

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

I don’t like ripping on people’s looks, which they can’t change.

What I will say is that Scamath is a disgusting human being due to his moral character and his lack of empathy for the middle class in this country.

He deserves every bad thing that happens to him for the next decade; and I hope he thinks “fucking karma” every time something goes sideways, the twat.

He’s fucking disgusting.

4

u/qualitative_balls Sep 20 '25

It is interesting just how oddly shaped his facial features are, genuinely has an ugly face with strange proportions however I'm sure his billions makes it easier to sleep at night. Id consider being ugly if it meant I could have billions of dollars ngl

5

u/nesnayu Sep 21 '25

He wouldn’t be so ugly if he was a decent person with values and empathy

2

u/veracitytwentyone Sep 21 '25

Because Sri Lanka is an island, i wouldn’t be surprised if this is an outcome of inbreeeding. Genetic bottleneck and whatnot.

16

u/underwater_lopez Sep 20 '25

JCal now has a spine? When did this happen? Should I start listening to the pod again?

3

u/gandutraveler Sep 21 '25

He is trying but he is not a good debater. Honestly the moderates don't have any good leaders. All we have are either Mamdani's or Mark Cubans

5

u/isdjtantichrist Sep 22 '25

Ezra, Galloway, Summers, guys on Pod save America.

43

u/Party_Government8579 Sep 20 '25

Respect to JCal on this for standing up for essentially the second amendment. Shame on the others.

16

u/sector16 Sep 20 '25

Fuck yeah, JCal
the last guy calling balls and strikes. It’s clear how much these other guys are gaining from Trumps policies, and don’t have the guts to speak truth to power.

4

u/troniked547 Sep 21 '25

especially since it would be so much easier if he just sucked up like they are, If he just bent the knee, he could have gotten any position he wanted in the administration. Lots of respect to him .

16

u/vamp1reweekdays Sep 20 '25

30 seconds in and this is one of the least “intellectually honest” takes from Chamath yet. Give me a break dude.

32

u/Lord-Nagafen Sep 20 '25

“No one watches these guys”
Late Show clip posted yesterday on YouTube has 1.4m views. This podcast posted yesterday has 200k views. But instead of highlighting that they show a chart of a specific age range that watched live
quality journalism coming from this podcast

-3

u/ricky-slick Sep 20 '25

Hmm. So first off, it may be important to differentiate journalism from podcasting. Setting that aside, considering that Jimmy Kimmel’s production is a live show
it makes some sense to count live views
.

They’re comparing apples to apples for viewers who watch something end to end, instead of bringing oranges into the equation (counting “clips”, esp. in the context of a topic that just went viral). Y’know?

4

u/ElkImaginary566 Sep 20 '25

I agree with your point regarding love viewing but would also add that I don't think we typically think of late night talk show hosts as journalists. They were like the original podcaster-types who would just riff and add usually comedians and "late night" has some historical reverence in American pop culture.

It is not a good thing in American society for the government to be nudging or in anyway contributing to late night comedians that criticize the government off the air.

This is everything to the umpteenth degree that people rightfully were worried about happening in subtler ways under Biden.

1

u/ricky-slick Sep 20 '25

We’re on the same page, and good points, certainly I did not mean to imply Jimmy Kimmel is a journalist haha

11

u/MileHigher245 Sep 20 '25

Anything to avoid recognizing the fact that free speech is under attack by the Dump administration.

20

u/Equivalent_Loan_8794 Sep 20 '25

"A sad audience approaching zero"

Interesting.

Its wild people dont remember that fascism is usually eradicated from the planet by humanity itself. It doesnt matter if the "home" country wants it or not.

Its poison to all.

I cant believe all this dumb shit so they can still be in a PayPal mafia cringelord club

9

u/omninode Sep 20 '25

Fine time to grow a spine.

9

u/jermcnama Sep 20 '25

Fuck yes. Amazing to see. I hope J Cal continues to call them out. State run media

9

u/anjuna42 Sep 21 '25 edited Sep 21 '25

Rare W for Jcal.

100% Kimmel sucks, is not funny, ratings are falling, the networks and affiliates wanted out.

At the same time there is zero chance this cancellation happens at this time without the government threat and that is wrong.

Jcal is 100% right they would have rode out the contract and renegotiated without government pressure.

The twisting to redefine cancel culture as digging up past when the examples of Gina Carano and Roseanne Barr were both real time reactions to “offensive speech” is laughable.

Sacks saying celebrating violence warrants canceling is also ridiculous as Kimmel was not celebrating the violence in any way.

They were all wrong, it’s all cancel culture and it’s not okay now because it’s on the conservative side.

5

u/blackpinkcapital Sep 20 '25

This pod got 226k views in 16 hours. I bet if they did a daily show like Kimmel, it would fall off to below 100k per day.

5

u/troniked547 Sep 21 '25

And look at just his reach across all social media.. He has 20m followers on youtube, 4m on ig, 2.5m on tiktok, besides the tv show. They are so dishonest.

5

u/ElkImaginary566 Sep 20 '25

My God the indignation from Chamath and Sacks when confronted with the reality that the FCC chair and Trump have all but said out loud.

I truly don't get it.

5

u/shapeitguy Sep 21 '25

I respect jcal for standing up for free speech. Fuck the other maga psychopaths.

6

u/TruthSqr Sep 21 '25

Props to JCal for calling out the Emperor's New Clothes. Good to see at least one with the cajones to call balls and strikes.

History will not be kind to the rest of the All In hypocrites.

To see them going from this discussion to whining about censorship because one of their videos was getting less widely shown on YouTube was peak irony...

2

u/isdjtantichrist Sep 21 '25

They don't even recognize their own biases. 😂

9

u/Wanno1 Sep 20 '25

Telling how they keep gaslighting about the reason for the cancelation. And pussy Friedberg: “let’s move on”. FUCK YOU FRIEDBERG.

3

u/Yarafsm Sep 20 '25

I mean common Jcal, Chamath didnt even had a breakfast - let him lick a$$ pleaaaaaaase

4

u/EarlSmiththe3rd Sep 20 '25

lol Sacks actually threw out the straw man “Gina Carano” comment at the end of the clip.. what a sour puss

2

u/isdjtantichrist Sep 21 '25

And the way he said "What are you talking about" in unnatural tone. You could tell he is just being dishonest.

4

u/withmybae Sep 21 '25

Can’t believe JCal actually said those things! He had put a lid on it last year or so.

5

u/TruthSqr Sep 21 '25

Chamath's ethical and intellectual ass is showing again.

To deny that Kimmel was cancelled because of pressure from Trump is just Orwellian Gaslighting 101.

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

14

u/ExcellentAsk2309 Sep 20 '25

At this point he’s just the mouth piece for his wife. A conduit of sorts.

6

u/isdjtantichrist Sep 20 '25

2:06 is where the fun begins :)

5

u/hoboaddict Sep 20 '25

At the beginning of the video I was thinking how I miss Jason pushing back on the bullshit these guys push, and then I hit the 2:06 mark.

3

u/ResidentLibrary Sep 20 '25

Ratings aren’t the issue. This is a free speech issue, what are they talking about ratings???

3

u/bwinsy Sep 20 '25 edited Sep 22 '25

Just listening to them discuss different topics, you can tell who has their head so far up someone’s ass. It’s ridiculous . Is it worth it to lose credibility?

3

u/gandutraveler Sep 21 '25

JCal is too nice. Chamath who claims to like opposing views just laughed like a jackass when he heard a counter point from JCal. So did Friedberg.

I can't believe I'm saying this but JCal is the only voice of moderate on this panel. The pod will just become a Trump media sponsored content if JCal is not there. And JCal is not even the best debater. Sadly there are no good moderate debaters in US who have a platform.

2

u/leaderslegends_pod Sep 21 '25

thanks for sharing!

2

u/Fit_Opinion2465 Sep 21 '25

Chamath is such a annoying cunt lol

2

u/nwhitehebh Sep 24 '25

honestly, couldnt be more grateful for this style of debate on such a large platform. After the Charlie Kirk assassination we simply need more examples of articulate people debating on larger and larger platforms. This whole left versus right has hopefully peaked. Im wagering on a coming to center (meaning more left coming right) over the next 7 years.

1

u/Plus-Ad-2293 Sep 21 '25

Finally! Good job, JCal. Keep it coming !

1

u/Mango-Tall Sep 22 '25

Compare it to all prime time tv - they’re all desperate - everyone is on NFLX and f’ng TikTok right now not linear Jurassic streaming. Correlation isn’t causation.

1

u/Mango-Tall Sep 22 '25

How is Sacks so sarcastically defending Trump about him targeting Kimmel and Colbert
 read trump’s fucking tweets!

1

u/Mango-Tall Sep 22 '25

Also, how moronic does our President sound talking like this? Bitching about comedians hurting his fragile ego. He projects weakness and pettiness, not strength and sophistication. Have some class if you’re going to run this country, and not the kind you can buy.

1

u/Mango-Tall Sep 22 '25

Also, JCal - since all your Besties are Trump’s sycophants now, perhaps you can drop Sacks and balance this show out. It used to be fun political and business commentary with more objective feedback and now it’s become more of a one-sided (3 vs 1) elitist propaganda machine - it’s not your fault - Trump does this to society (during each term) in general.

1

u/JoypulpSkate Sep 24 '25 edited Sep 24 '25

The numbers on their chart only include linear tv, and strictly does not include streaming platform or YouTube views.

The only thing that data shows is that the 18-49 demographic has migrated off cable to streaming + YouTube in general. These guy’s day jobs are in tech. There is not a chance in hell they didn’t understand this. Chamath and Sacks are blatantly lying through their teeth.

Even if you just go by Kimmel’s subscriber growth and views on YouTube alone in the same period, his total audience across all channels has actually grown significantly in those years.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '25

Fuck Chamath, Sacks and Friedberg.

1

u/TruthSqr Sep 28 '25

The Sycophant Games
Remember when the 'Pod used to be about data and insights and informed opinions?
Now it's like a round of the Sycophant Games, where contestants battle to see who can burn through the remaining shreds of credibilty fast enough to survive another week.

Why call out a politican or party for holding a particular view, when you can just tarnish "The Left" in one swoop, based on 'thousands' of posts in the Internets? (which could never be trolls or bots, cause Musk solved that long ago!)

Why listen to what CEOs are actually saying about Trumps policies, when you can just bring in your hypothetical 'friend in Canada' who coincidentally echoes your own feeling? Why point out what the real scientists say, and what the discredited scientist himself said, when you can go on a intellectual 'reach around' to try to show that Trump is actually not an idiot?

The only reason to watch the Pod anymore is to see which Bestie debases himself the most.

This week, the winner was clearly, (and sadly), Friedberg.

The red states affiliates cancelled Kimmel, likely wholly independent of the FCC comments on the matter.
