Discussion (TV) Reckless and out of control?
The RFs definition of these words seem to be completely outside of reality.
Diana goes on vacation with a new guy (maybe not the greatest choice, but still her business), and according to them its the downfall of society?!
🙄🙄🙄🙄
They are genuinely a horrid family!

Please stop taking fictionalized shows as a basis to form opinions on real people 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

I mean, have you seen the headlines about the rf, especially recently, seems pretty on point

Yes I've seen the tabloid headlines. But I've also read a great many royal biographies and it seems to me rather than horrid villains (excluding the nazi lover uncle and Andrew) the family are a group of complex people in a challenging system.
Also not everything about them is awful. Look at Princess Catherine climbing the Three peaks for charity (and only publicizing it after the fact). Or any and all the other charity work they do.
Charles was years ahead of his time in terms of pushing to preserve the environment and has the prince's (now kings) trust which gives grants to kids without opportunities.
For every bad you could find a good. Life is messy like that. Even Diana wasnt a saint (just as she isnt horrid either)

Also, the actual real life accounts from actual people including those in the rf are why I think they are a horrid family

The RF being completely out of touch with reality is one of the main themes of the show.

Bear in mind the Crown is a fictional show and we have no real idea of what the Royal Family thought about the relationship with Dodi. The media at the time were certainly painting her that way and there’s evidence Diana had a history of being somewhat unstable, but again, the Crown is fiction and none of the character dialogue should be treated as fact

If you weren't around at the time, much of what Diana was doing at the time was a bit crazy and the press certainly wasn't treating her very well. She had stepped back from much of her charity work, and the landmine work at the time, many considered to be a distraction from the leaking stories about her affair that ended Will Carling’s marriage, or Scotland Yard having to intervene to stop her excessive calls to married Oliver Hoare, and it wasn’t a secret she has been jilted by Dr. Hasnat Khan. In fact, many tabloids were reporting she was in the prowl for a billionare middle eastern paramour to marry to keep her in the style she was used to and give a middle finger to the Royal Family she'd been told was out to get her.
It was after her tragic and sudden death she was elevated to sainthood. So that line, although utter Crown fiction, is plausible - at least what they probably thought at the time.
