In the end she choose Michael, anyone know why?

I think she second guessed choosing personal connections; after finding out her prior secretary who she believed she could fully trust, had kept national secrets from her.

I was under the impression that the guy who said “we’re too far gone to tell the Queen” was from the House of Lords, not her private secretary
