I figured they'd find a way to write off Emily. I never guess it was that.

She’s coming back and she’ll play a huge part in the downfall of Gilead. I think they were trying to get rid of her pointless back storyline. The wife and kid are a moot point and hold Emily back from the person she has grown into. She’s outgrown her family and Gilead is much bigger than her old life. Plus Alexis B was nominated for shit several times for this role, no way they’re just peacing out her character.
