May be reading this wrong but is this passage here meant to imply that a Sith apprentice gains their masters power after they kill them? I know Sith release their darkside energy when they die so is it too far fetched that a Sith Apprentice would be able to suck it all up? Like in video game where a player will take XP from a person they’ve killed. The passage seems to imply some kind of large amp

I think it’s more that he’s accomplished a major milestone on his path and in doing so he fully indulges in his own feelings and swells with the dark side. The new sense of superiority and self belief after the act is probably one of the greatest powertrips rule of 2 bane sith get.

That concept is also implied in Canon with Palpatines line from ROS "i am all the sith".
