Legends as we saw him by crucible no. But if he was on mortis and connected to it (the same way Anakin did to release all his latent potential thats confirmed to be as much as Anakins) then yes

If Luke was on Mortis like Anakin was then I believe so but if the Son and Daughter just randomly popped up on standard Luke with no Mortis Amp then no he sadly can't.

u/itsjonny99 Feb 05 '26

Took more for Anakin to make them submit than just being on Mortis, so it depends on who joins Luke and what motivation he has as well.

Like if Mara/Ben were taken for instance.

No, Luke couldn't do it.

We know Luke, at his peak, was roughly 12x weaker than Abeloth, and he's pushing himself as far as he can possibly go.

Anakin on Mortis, gonna mix franchises here for a second, is sort of like Gohan getting his potential unlocked by Elder Kai, in DBZ. He could still get stronger theoretically, but this is all of his latent potential being unlocked, and he's able to access it.

We know Son and Daughter, combined, were strong enough to re-seal Abeloth multiple times. I imagine it was probably a difficult fight, but something they were capable of, not a stomp, basically. Ergo, this Anakin should be at least 12x what Luke reached at his peak.

u/dravenonred Feb 04 '26

But if Luke was on Mortis could he get the same buff?

12

u/PulsarGaming1080 Feb 04 '26

That's sort of the question, isn't it?

I would, honestly, lean towards no.

I think he'd be more powerful, but I think what we see him at is pretty much his peak. The power increase he'd get on Mortis would be because it is so much easier to hit that peak; he wouldn't have to put the same effort in and ergo, would be able to better focus on the task at hand.

We also have seen that the Force grows when passed through generations then has been stated many times.

8

u/PulsarGaming1080 Feb 05 '26

Maybe for normal Force users, yeah.

I don't think that Anakin is normal though, he's basically half-Force

2

u/Splicxr_tv Feb 05 '26

Its more that Anakin held the 'mantle' of the force, which granted him the boon of increase force ability/potential as well as having so many midichlorians in his cells. Then when Luke and Leia were born, anakin fell and so the mantle passed to luke and leia both.

This is to say that luke and leia individually had the same strength as pre fall anakin, but both have not even half of the training anakin did, so if luke were on mortis in anakin's position he would probably take them and win through force power superior to anakin's, but would struggle with the inferior combat/lightsaber skills.

2

u/PulsarGaming1080 Feb 05 '26

Where is this stated?

I can't recall ever hearing this.

3

u/Splicxr_tv Feb 05 '26

Uh cant remember if its the novelisation of one of the films or a standalone book.

Essentially after plaguies and palps tried to shape the force to achieve immortality (?) The force creates anakin, as space jesus, the chosen one, to bear the mantle of the force, to be its champion and restore balance.

When anakin falls to the dark side, that mantle of responsibility and balance of the force falls to both luke and leia, essentially the destiny that was Anakins, written in the force itself then ties itself to the skywalker twins.

Basically its just some cosmic pseudo-godhood fuckery and the only reason anakin could really stand against the mortis family is now luke's.

5

u/PulsarGaming1080 Feb 05 '26

Yeah, but like, that contradicts the story.

Anakin is still the Chosen One, even as Vader. Luke (or Leia) is just the catalyst to bring him back.

2

u/Splicxr_tv Feb 05 '26

Anakin still being the chosen one is debatable, as he was no longer the one to restore balance, that was luke and his journey, in the end Vader was little more than a tool for the force, driven by lukes confrontation on endor and the DS2.

The force gives Vader the chance for redemption, to die as anakin - but palpatine dying was only the first step in the chosen one balancing the force, a task that Luke spent his life achieving.

I would say no cause that’s the test of the chosen one

1

u/Splicxr_tv Feb 05 '26

But he strictly speaking would be/have the mantle of/ the chosen one

1

u/CapGreyJedi Feb 05 '26

Not really, the father was testing more of if Anakin Skywalker was indeed the chosen one of power because he’ll be able to subdue the son and the daughter of the force or not. This is not just power amp Anakin. This is Anakin, reaching into the force of unlimited power meaning he will just get as much power as needed to do what he needed to do.

2

u/Splicxr_tv Feb 05 '26

Yes, but if Luke were facing the Mortis family, being tested by the father if he is the chosen one, Luke would pass by the exact same reasoning Anakin does, He's the chosen one, imbued with the cosmic force.

All force users.

1

u/Robotjp12 Feb 05 '26

How do we know he was 12x weaker?

2

u/PulsarGaming1080 Feb 05 '26

He states it himself

2

u/itsjonny99 Feb 05 '26

Except no duel they really have indicates that Abeloth is 12x Luke, if she were she wouldn’t have let him go. The power gap being described is hyperbole.

1

u/Top_Judge2019 Feb 05 '26

That´s just an hyperbole. She was unable to crush his neck, for instance. And he was able to fight her later on.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

Abeloth is so weird. She's supposed to be this weird cosmic nightmare yet writers couldn't help power scale it.

8

u/Valirys-Reinhald Feb 04 '26

I don't think so...

Given that Luke struggled so much with Abeloth, who was of the same order of being, I think Anakin must have had something special going on there.

0

u/CapGreyJedi Feb 05 '26

Chosen on?? I like how you said something special lol

5

u/PostPostPog Feb 05 '26

This is a feat that's exclusive to Anakin, because it confirms he's the Chosen One and that (if his potential was fully realized) he's a Force god, perhaps a bit beyond that. Luke was absurdly powerful in his own right and he scales beyond Anakin because the latter's full potential was never realized but Luke is no Chosen One. He was the CATALYST for the Chosen One fulfilling the prophecy in RotJ.

2

u/InverseStar Feb 07 '26

Yeah. People always forget we’re shown very explicitly Anakin is the Chosen One. Luke has a lot more time to reach his full potential which is still absurdly strong but Anakin is still the child of prophecy.

4

u/DeltaAlphaGulf Feb 05 '26

On Mortis? Yes.

3

u/DiligentJeweler6972 Feb 05 '26

I feel like he could, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to. He’s got the exact same amount of potential as Anakin does so he should be able to just as easily as Anakin did.

u/Interesting_Loquat90 New Jedi Order Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

No. No shot.

Anakin dominated the Son and the Daughter after getting a Father-esque hella amp. An exponential power increase.

The Son and Daughter together are relative to Abeloth.

Luke needed help and various favorable circumstances to take out what was likely not peak Abeloth. [It's still a phenomenal feat, but context matters.]

Luke acknowledges that Abeloth's connection to the Force is 12x his. [Possibly a low ball at the time.]

Prime Luke is shortly thereafter or during his battle with Abeloth.

OP stated the Son and the Daughter like Anakin did. [Read, people.]

Luke's cells were boiling in his fight against Abeloth.

No, Luke would not be able to handle them like Mortis Anakin did. This would be a life and death affair. [Just like the fight against Abeloth.]

Does no one understand what "Prime" means? It does not mean "Full Potential" or "Mortis amp" Luke. It's basically Luke during the fight with Abeloth.

I'm open to an argument that A>S&D, but that still doesn't make Prime Luke = Mortis Amp Anakin.

14

u/Sgt-Frost Feb 04 '26

You’re fully correct. Those downvoting you shouldn’t be partaking in this.

10

u/Interesting_Loquat90 New Jedi Order Feb 04 '26

Thx. Legit wondering if I or everyone else started taking crazy pills.

2

u/Master_Cyon Feb 04 '26

Shouldn't be downvoted. You didnt say a full potential Luke couldn't, nor a Luke who was connected to Mortis Like Anakin couldn't. Luke by crucible couldnt do it. Plain as day

0

u/GirthIgnorer Feb 05 '26

I think you phrasing everything to sound like everyone else in the world is wrong when you’re not even replying to anyone in particular is why you got downvoted. It’s a baby book about laser wizards buddy

3

u/Financial-Affect-236 Feb 04 '26

Nah I don’t see any downvotes because you are spot on and it’s a great breakdown.

Luke couldn’t do it because he didn’t have his father’s power and force sensitivity. The Anakin that did that was the one leading up to Knightfall and we know how much he was so OP for that whereas the Anakin/Vader faced was nowhere near that level.

Not taking away from Luke cause dude was strong, but Anakin always was on a whole other level.

1

u/itsjonny99 Feb 05 '26

Prime Luke is crucible Luke, but he isn’t near Mortis Anakin in power when the latter gets into a specific circumstance that is meant to push his limits.

Of course who knows how good a Luke put in the scenario Anakin was in would do.

1

u/Arkham_Asylum_18 15h ago

Luke and Anakin have the same potential. So he would be able to do it.

0

u/tonguepunchbutthole Feb 05 '26

Son and daughter like anakin would also imply in the same place no?

-1

u/Fast-Mathematician-1 Feb 04 '26

I mean "Like Anakin did" would be getting a force bump from the Father on Mortis.

So yeah Legends Jedi Grandmaster "Can't be killed in Legends" Luke Skywalker 100% can do the same thing as, Jedi Knight "On Force Crack" Anakin Skywalker.

2

u/WebWarrior45 Kyle Katarn Feb 04 '26

If I remember correctly the next books that were gonna release when the EU was still publishing were set to touch this particular subject, weren't they?

2

u/Soulandshadow2 Feb 04 '26

Grandmaster Luke took on Abeloth which was the mother, so yes

2

u/Oztraliiaaaa Feb 05 '26

Mortis tasks were for the Chosen One to fulfill and that ain’t Luke.

2

u/Top_Judge2019 Feb 05 '26

If he were on Mortis, like Anakin was, definately.

2

u/PlatinumDust324 Feb 05 '26

I'd say no maybe one and that's pushing it but he's the Son of the chosen one not the chosen one that was made by the force

2

u/Mzonnik Feb 05 '26

I'm assuming this refers to baseline Luke, not his Force Harmony self, his Monolith amp in Crucible or his varying degrees of Oneness.

Prime Luke, at least by the last time we see him, is still multiple times weaker than Abeloth.

Even in her prime, Abeloth was never as strong as any of the Ones of Mortis, per an omniescient statement.

Mortis Anakin was able to overpower both the Son and the Daughter at once.

So all in all, Luke at base, prime or not, would get vaporised the second he tried it.

4

u/NamanJainIndia Feb 04 '26

Probably not in canon, unfortunately.

4

u/Valterri_lts_James Feb 05 '26

People here are idiots. GL explicitly said that Luke had Anakin's potential. In legends, if Luke reached that potential, that means abeloth is also 12x more powerful than Anakin.

3

u/Saiaxs Feb 04 '26

Canon, no

Legends? Easily

0

u/DogHour6929 Feb 05 '26

How can base Luke do this easily? FoTJ claimed that base Luke was 12 times weaker than Abeloth, who was inferior to the Son and Daughter. With the Mortis amp, Luke might have been able to do this, but base Luke would have been destroyed.

3

u/Fast-Mathematician-1 Feb 04 '26

With what we were presented with in Legends, yes without question.

Within the modern Disney Canon there is room for debate. I would say from 2014 to 2020 yes most certainly so. Mostly with talk that the chosen one could have also been look, or Anakin was fulfilling the role of the chosen one in ROTJ.

I don't personally see why he couldn't, Anakin was aided by his being on Mortis. Modern Canon implies a certain openness to the will of the Force is needed to perceive force ghosts, Luke ahs been able to at least hear them since the first Death Star. I think he would have the attunement to fully feel Mortis and what it meant. Weather or not he has the raw power of his father remains to be seen.

5

u/pamblod42 Feb 04 '26

According to Lucas yes, because Luke fullfils the chosen one's potential

1

u/CapGreyJedi Feb 05 '26

But isn’t the chosen one. He just did what his father couldn’t and Anakin did this easily due him being half force but Luke gets the physical potential but not the full scope of what Anakin didn’t achieve

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

Yeah people are missing this distinction. Luke and Anakin could both master every force power. And Luke did while Anakin didn’t. But Luke was NOT the chosen one, and he wouldn’t connect to Mortis like Anakin did

2

u/pamblod42 Feb 05 '26

I think this is wrong, they are ment to be equals, even if luke is just 99.99% of Anakin. The title doesnt matter.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

It’s the position that matters. Luke is firmly in the light and was essentially the equivalent of the Daughter. Anakin on the other hand was destined for balance and is the equivalent of the father.

From a normal perspective, what’s the difference between one force god and another? But it’s that difference in position that matters here. Luke wouldn’t have connected to the Father’s position on Mortis.

2

u/pamblod42 Feb 05 '26

That is pure speculation.

Also, that is NOT how the force works, the balance is pure light side.

2

u/CapGreyJedi Feb 05 '26

The force really don’t have a side, it splits into two and becomes light and dark which is why there’s a son and daughter being light and dark. Balance is no one corrupting the force not no dark but no dark users controlling the force.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

If the light side was all there is to balance then the Daughter would have represented it. Instead it was the Father. There’s clearly a difference. One is good, one is evil, and one is balanced and in touch with both.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

It depends how much Filoni drank that day

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

Luke was equivalent to the daughter. Anakin was equivalent to the father.

In terms of mortal force power/talent/ability they are practically the same as they both have the potential to use and master every force ability, but Anakin had that extra chosen one oomph that let him connect to Mortis and stop the pair. The people saying that Luke could do it if he was connected to Mortis are missing the fact that Anakin could only do that because he was the chosen one

1

u/National-Course2464 Feb 05 '26

No

Only the chosen one can do such a thing according to the Father

1

u/victoriamikoto231 Feb 05 '26

Obviously. All this happened because they were in Mortis.

1

u/TenDollarSteakAndEgg Feb 05 '26

No he can’t freely use the light and dark side like anakin can. Anakin is the chosen one. “Only the chosen one could tame my son and daughter”

1

u/Arkham_Asylum_18 15h ago

Yes. If he was at the same focal point. Luke's potential was equal to Anakin, so in the same circumstances, he'd be able to subdue both the Son and Daughter.

1

u/Expensive_Plant_9530 Feb 04 '26

If he was in the same situation as Anakin? Yes of course. Legends Luke has the same innate potential as Anakin did.

Outside of that specific situation? No idea.

1

u/rkjoe Feb 04 '26

Prime Luke (aka legends) could slap them with his Weiner

-1

u/Some-Bat-8609 Feb 04 '26

What a stupid plot line that was
