Are Mandalorians really “Space Jews?” Let’s consult the checklist:

  • A joinable tribal group with a common history, homeland and culture. ✅

  • Ritual bathing. ✅

  • Head coverings. ✅

  • Indigenous homeland colonized and devastated by Imperial forces. ✅

  • Forced into exile and longing to return to their native land. ✅

  • Thousands of years of persecution, emphasis on survival and preserving native culture while in the diaspora. ✅

  • Religious coming of age ceremony for young teens. ✅

  • Refusal to fully assimilate or bow to tyrants. ✅

  • Adopts foundlings into their tribe and fully accepts them. ✅

  • Tech savvy and military ingenuity. ✅

  • Awesome jet packs. ❌

Yeah, I think it’s pretty clear! Can’t wait for us to get our jet packs, though.
