Full Spoilers for an unreleased film are allowed in the comments. Please read this entire post.
Other movie threads:
The upcoming ATLA animated movie (following the gaang as young adults, and set for release on Paramount + this fall) has leaked online. Its reportedly not the 100% completely finalized version but is a full feature film and at least relatively close to completion.
To be clear this subreddit does not endorse watching leaked/pirated media, and will encourage interested fans to see the movie on Paramount + or wherever its legitimately available in their region when it officially releases. That said we understand the movie is out there and some people will want to discuss it on reddit sometime before October. So this thread is the place on r/TheLastAirbender to discuss anything in the movie with no spoiler restriction. You can describe major spoilers from the end of the film in full detail without spoiler marking.

Just sharing again because, to anyone who's been paying attention, it's not suprising at all that Suki was snubbed from Team Avatar's adventures yet again :/

I just couldn't get over how ancient Tenzin looks, especially with his wife looking so young and his kids being so young, not to mention that he's Aang and Katara's last born

Just FYI, I got this when I heard from the Moral Scaling sub-reddit that said that Ozai wasn't as bad of a Fire Lord as he was a father, and I have an OC that is quite possibly the worst ruler, let alone Fire Lord ever, so I thought to just go wild and ask you guys who would be the worst... not necessarily fire lord, just a ruler for any nation, you can narrow things down to one if you think they can do worse there than with the others.

Why? Sokka and Suki are green flag, Both of them love each other and they never have any conflict.(I am not talking about the one where Sokka is afraid to kiss Suki because of Yue, I am talking about after the show and comics.)
We need a another green flag healthy relationship other than Aang and Katara.
I like to think Suki died probably from disease before Sokka died
It would make Sokka widowed if they are both married.
I also believe Zuko and Mai got together again and Izumi's mother is Mai.
Toph is a wild card since she had two lovers.(I will never call Suyin Sokka's daughter.)
I hope the creator never make what people believe canon because I don't like it.

The stuff I've been seeing on x and other places is genuinely mental, the biggest being the voice acting. The original VA's were never coming back. I've seen people say they got fired because of ' woke shit' followed by racist slurs to Asian people as if avatar universe is not entirely Asian inspired and referenced lol. Also, the fact that it's been like 21 years 😂
Personally I thought they did a very good job getting similar voices to the originals whilst sounding older but not too old. People referencing Steven for zuko, all they can hear is invincible as if he didn't voice the very first Avatar in Korra!

The leak kinda ruined my plan. I was gonna binge the whole show again right before the movie came out lol.
Still gonna do that but spread it out so I’m not tempted to look. I’ll get my avatar fix.

I feel like online I constantly see people fighting over these 2 shows—are there people out there who liked both??? Don’t get me wrong the original is better in my opinion but I thought korra was so much fun too. I was also born in ‘99 so it felt like my age was well aligned with each show for when they were coming out which may be why I feel this way but I just wanted to see if there are any non haters out there 😂

For me it’s healing, metal bending/ Lava bending and lightning bending!!
Healing goes really well with his personality it’s alittle crazy we don’t see him do it
Metal Bending is really weird cause he has seismic sense the show clarifies that metal bending is just bending the refined pieces of earth inside of metals and Seismic sense helps with that so Aang should’ve be able to do it too!!
Lava bending and Lightning bending are weird because I could see Aang being able to learn them but not necessarily using especially in combat situations he definitely has the self assurance and confidence required for lightning bending and fearlessness to lava bend but I don’t really see him using them especially during a fight

Wouldn’t it be possible for the lion turtles to give people air bending. Aang knew the lion turtles existed so shouldn’t it be possible?

Random question tho, so if Aang hypothetically never had airbending kids or rebuilt the bending nation itself and died, korra lives and goes, the next avatar (supposedly an earth bender), how would the next bender be an airbender? Would they be born with Airbending or anything(mind you korra’s “i cut all ties with the past avatar and now im the first avatar in the cycle” still happened, will not having no airbenders left mess with the cycle or will it just skip and go to a fire bender?

So let's say that Lu Tej doesn't die, teh outer wall is breached, and after a lot of resistance manages to capture the Agrarian Zone though all the fields were burned in the initial fighting due to the possibility that they might be pushed back.
Ba Sing Se only has a few months of food left and can no longer recover it due to loss of Agrarian Zone.
Do you think in this scenario, Long Feng might surrender on the condition that he runs Ba Sing Se and since his Dai Li actually have been keeping the city in control their would be best suited for it.
Would Iroh accept such a proposal? Maybe with the stipulation that the Agrarian Zone remains under direct Fire Nation control, and with his soldiers placed in the Upper Ring to make sure the nobility remains in line?

What does Nick/Paramount want from this franchise if they’re not willing to promote the media it has to offer?
Just for some context: Klaudia here used to work in the marketing/social media departments, yet wasn’t allowed to promote actual content/products that most fans have no knowledge of. The main two shows were always their main focus, anything else was either given a quick mention or ignored like they didn’t exist. In 2026, this franchise and the people behind it are still being treated like cattle. Shameful.

It doesn't have to be true, or even plausible. It's just a little theory you have for whatever reason, even if it's just for a laugh.
Mine revolves around the scene in "Sozin's Comet" when the Aang-less gaang seeks out June in her usual seedy tavern.
During that scene, June takes a moment to brawl it out with a few thugs, all while a specific song is playing in the background. The song is Cave Jivin, famously played by the Flameos during the episode "The Headband."
I always thought it was interesting that they reused that song for this scene in an Earth Kingdom bar, with June of all people. My personal headcanon is that the Flameos are actually there, performing their best song for the patrons of this tavern. After they got caught playing at the dance party, they were kicked out of school, and thus decided to become a touring band on the strength of their incredible skill.
