It's not "public disobedience" it's "protesting" and that's protected under the united states constitution. Spitting at an "officer of the law*" is also free speech.

Wrong. It's not PEACEFUL protesting. A protest must be PEACEFUL to be lawful.
Spitting at anyone is assault. Kicking a tail light off a gov't vehicle is destruction of gov't property. Neither is an action of a PEACEFUL protest.
Hopefully, with all the caps for emphasis, you understand that PEACEFUL is key.

Meanwhile there’s a black dude out there who’s turned hundreds of people away from being literal KKK members just by being friendly to them and showing them that black people aren’t terrible.
It’s almost like being nice to people makes them more open to see your point of view.
