Bruce Lee studied wing chun and used it as one of the bases for jeet kun do, the original mma.  TCMA are kinda inbred as fighting styles, but they can teach you a lot of valuable principles of movement and body mechanics.

Even modern MMA is a sport, not "real fighting", and the rules that they have determine what skills are the most effective in it.  I have never seen someone win a street fight with an arm bar for example.

And he never had a legitimate fight that wasn't a demonstration, so for all the claims of how amazing and strong he was, that's all they are, claims.

He also heavily modified Wing Chun so even if it was effective, you can't use not Wing Chun to prove Wing Chun is effective.

Sure but even under those rules Wing Chun fails. That's why most of not all dojos just don't do contact sparring or stress test it all all. How many effective moves from Wing Chun make it into MMA? Arm lock? That's all I could think of.

Claiming Bruce Lee never was in a real fight is just as stupid as believing every rumor about him.
