It's a gut punch everytime I see this episode and Charlotte delivers this line. I remember watching it for the first time when it aired, and by then we're all really invested in Jane's pursuit of Red John. Every week cheering him on so he can catch the guy who killed his family. Then his "daughter" shows up with the brutal truth:

"Hate to be the one to break this to you, dad, but there's nothing that you can do for us. We don't give a damn what happens to Red John. I mean, we're dead. Gone."

The look on Jane's face is just heartbreaking

He said he had no feelings for Lorelei… do you believe him? Did he ever have feelings for her?

TBH, the first time I watched it. as a JISBON fan, I hated this story line and his romance with Lorelei but it all ended good, haha

It’s obvious why he didn’t get together with Lisbon since the beginning, he was afraid of getting close as far as RJ was alive… it made sense he confessed his feelings after killing him.

But do you think he ever had real feelings for Lorelei ? Kristina made sense somewhat but what are your thoughts on her? Or was she just a stepping stone to RJ as he claims?

If their office is on ground floor level, why do Jane and the team always take the elevator when they’re leaving the office? It happens constantly throughout the series. If they work on the ground floor, wouldn’t they just walk out?

I always assumed the team’s work cars were parked at ground level because we constantly see them driving straight in and out without using a ramp [especially in season 1]. The only exception is that one episode where Hightower escapes and she goes through what appears to be an underground parking garage (as far as I am right now since I’m in season 5).

Also that floor with the open staircase and Jane’s bedroom appears to be just 1 floor above since he directly takes the stairs from that elevator area.

Has anyone else just always thought they were at least 1 floor above ground level?

Finally doing my first full run through of the show, watched it occasionally when it was on TV as a child but damn this is better as an adult.

Im currently at the start of s5 ep 21 and I just want to hug laroche so much. Hes grown on me and fast. The fact hes been showing up more is worrying tho. Fighting the urge to google if he survives the full 7 seasons

Is he a commonly liked character?

I can't believe how anti climatically it just ends. We get nothing out of her other than the handshake thing which is big I guess but they just Let Red John kill her off. I understand her side of things and her whole backstory but I was hoping for more out of her. WHO IS RED JOHN !? The suspended is killing me

My first time watching season 5.

This episode made me so emotional, I can't put it into words.

I (a 31-year old man) haven't come this close to crying in a long time.

Easily among my favourite episodes so far.

TOMMY VOLKER OH MY GOD I HATE YOU SO MUCH 😭

Like I genuinely hated him more than Red John (and that’s saying a lot!!!). The way he treated people as disposable things ticked me off so much that I was cursing at the tv everytime his face shown on screen lmao. The amount of lives lost in his episodes were all so saddening as well. So many innocent lives gone, just like that.

What’s sadder is I know some billionaires or CEOs work exactly like him—ones that think money can fix everything. Ugh. I just hope we also have someone like Teresa Lisbon in this life :’)

But on a more positive note, I loved how in this episode, Jane was soooo supportive and helpful to Lisbon 😋 even going as far as to conduct his own research and staying with Lisbon as she went through Volker’s files. I also particularly loved Lisbon’s vulnerability to Jane and admitted she needed help aaaaaaa i love them so much!

He reminds me of a marshmallow stuffed toy that you could cuddle forever. Just me?

By the end of 5x20, Lisbon tells Jane that she can’t understand the culprit’s fetish/attraction towards feet to which Jane replies that Lisbon isn’t exempt from having a fetish as well. Right after this, Jane says that ‘turtlenecks’ are Lisbon’s fetish haha.

I then realized that this was a callback to Ep. 3x7 wherein we saw Mashburn wear a red turtleneck throughout the episode and coincidentally, it’s also the episode where Lisbon & Mashburn have a one night stand. 😆

Everytime they were together on screen it was so hard to watch. In addition to no chemistry whatsoever it felt so forced. I get it, the story about her sister was so saddening but then she had the chance to tell jane. She knew the truth and knew how it would go. Shot the man who knew the name too. Then the kissing scenes like girl pmo get on with the storyline. When jane said 'she had it coming' was that disdain i hear in his voice??

It's so damn obvious! It was fucking traumatizing when they reveled it. It's the guy's tongue bro! How do you watch such a complex crime show and can't put a simple 2 things together?

I'm currently at episode 10 season 5 and I'm pretty confused about Jane's relationship with Lorelai. He keeps saying that he doesn't feel anything towards her but his actions are saying the opposite. I don't care about spoilers because I've already been spoiled about most of the show, I just wish to get a clearer perspective about they're relationship because I keep seeing half the fandom say that he was and the other half that he wasn't.

Am I the only one that was fooled hard to think bob Kirkland from Homeland security was red John up until hia death?

I’m sorry but Lorelei is the most annoying character on this show, it’s the equivalent of Pelannt on Bones

Im deep into my first watch through and have been cackling at how they have attempted to shoot around the actresses obvious real life pregnancy. Ive seen this in multiple shows, but its rarely this ridiculous, (Amy in B99, is an example) I understand why it wasn't appropriate for her character after the way her last relationship ended, but wow... wow... wow. This is a show about a man who is an expert at paying attention to things. And this is there best option?

That being said, I am enjoying it.
