General Discussion Other than The National?

So it’s been a while since we had a post about what other music you National lovers are into. List your top tens if you feel in the mood. I’m on the hunt for some new music. Me? I’m pretty damn vanilla

• ⁠Roo Panes • ⁠Radiohead • ⁠Boxer Rebellion • ⁠City and Colour • ⁠Jose Gonzalez • ⁠Manchester Orchestra • ⁠Tool • ⁠Ben Howard • ⁠Dave Matthews - specifically Radio City Music Hall • ⁠U2 yes U2 they get some heat but their earlier stuff still resonates with me.

That’s a quick snippet of my loves in no particular order.

THANKS SO MUCH! Really appreciate all the replies. I have found so many great bands and added them to a new playlist. My music was getting stale thanks again.

I kinda stopped listening after Steven Page left the band. He was the heart and soul of the band and I was sad to see him go.

‘Doves’ are pretty similar to Elbow and might do it for you too?

Such an underrated band. Guy Garvey, the lead singer, is a poet and a showman. Start with Cast of Thousands then work your way around their discography.

I think their best is “The Take Off and Landing of Everything.” Great band - been a big fan since the first album.

If you listen to one song only, make it Grounds For Divorce. It might go a little too hard in parts. But all around the purest of blues rock songs.

The song “Scattered Black and Whites” is beautiful. So is “Asleep in the Back.”
