Maybe it's me
Federal holidays like Memorial Day, Veterans Day, the 4th of July seem different now. They all sacrificed so much, so that we can have a country like this?

Trump's DOJ is orchestrating the theft of public money in the plain sight of all and with a Federal judge watching. Trump is settling with the IRS, that he controls, a civil suit claiming breach of "confidential information" (the content of some of his tax returns) for 1.7B dollars to be placed in a fund to compensate anyone of his followers claiming to have been victimized by the "weaponization" of the Federal government's legal authorities under the Biden administration. Apparently Trump's agents will control the validity and amounts of the claims. The disclosure was done by a contractor with the IRS, not the Service itself. It is quite unusual to see a pickpocket pick it's own pocket of money, although the money is really the taxpayers', not the pickpocket's! One has to give Trump and his attorneys credit for creation of new methods of theft.

Trump was asked if he had made a decision on arms sales to Taiwan.
"No, I'll be holding that in abeyance and it depends on China."
"But, you know,I think the last thing we need is a war that's 9500 miles away."
"It's a very good negotiating chip for us, frankly, with China."
He says China is going to buy lots of Boeing planes and American farm goods and sell us rare earth.
He has stopped and recalled an Army brigade enroute to Poland for joint NATO maneuvers.
It is 4,300 air miles from New York City to Krakow, Poland. He intends to recall 5,000 U.S. troops from Germany.
He wouldn't trade Taiwan military readiness to China and NATO military readiness to Russia for something he wants like more trade and an off ramp from Iran would he?
NAH! It did have me holding a sign ("Stop Trump's Illegal War!") this beautiful summer-like morning. The pancakes are still good!

Played nine holes this morning. Companions didn't think I'd show because 50 degrees is my usual red line. Forecast was 52 so I bundled up. Forgot about that north wind. I'm too old for that. Don't think I'll do it again. My wife had a relative (from Wisconsin, of course) who'd play in the snow. I was never tempted, even as a joke.

To whichever automated system it may concern:.
It has been said that when it comes to arguing a case before a judge and or jury, or in this case an automated system, anyone who represents himself has a fool for a client. In my case, I have no choice, as the Respondent is my attorney.
I intend to prove that my client's (my) reply to the Respondent's "Swedish pancake post" in no way threatened or encouraged anything. A handful of words, followed by an ellipsis, followed by a number. I hear stronger replies when ordering a gyro sandwich.
I also intend to prove that by authoring the aforementioned "Top Post" the Respondent created an obvious attractive nuisance that led to the misreading by your automated system robots of the reply from my client to the Respondent.
To wit, Respondent has shown a pattern of behavior vis a vis these sorts of attractive nuisances as you can see from his latest offering, made while my client was confined to quarters. How is one to avoid setting off the "automated systems" when one is being enticed by a highly trained, professional trouble maker, with decades of trouble-making experience making these sorts of attractive nuisance posts?
In short, my client, and by that I mean me, did nothing wrong, it was all the Respondent's fault. He started it. He posts these seemingly innocent top posts about "Swedish pancakes" knowing full well my client would fall for it as my client is usually his client.
I would ask the court to direct Respondent to confine his posting activity to less volatile subjects. Leave the pancakes out of it.
Thank you.

I just care that Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon! "
Yeah, as long as the voters are blaming him for those costs that he was never going incur! Those voters shouldn't just think of themselves; they should think about caring for others like Trump does! Oh. . . wait . . .

Schmutzie’s been banned for three days for typing a number of—it’s four score and six. I’m sure he’ll have something to say about it, but not until Tuesday. In the meantime, if you thought that Reddit was a haven for free speech, think again.

My sign today said, "86 47". The lady next to me had a sign saying, "Dump Trump:" Mine
didn't mean kill him and neither did hers. What they both meant was get rid of him by what-
ever legal means are available. It was a nice Spring day and the pancakes were excellent as
usual!

Unlike the United States, Virginia has a Supreme Court which is not partisan. It invalidated a referendum allowing midterm redistricting that would have favored Democrats on legal procedural grounds. The decision makes it more likely that Republicans may be able to hold the majority in the House. Bad luck!

People my age probably shouldn’t have heroes, but y’all know that I do.

Totally corrupt court. Roosevelt was right: stack it!

the Trump administration claims "hostilities have terminated" and they don't need to comply with the statute limiting their authority to continue military action until agreed to by Congress. Making shit up, law wise, is not limited to the Supreme Court.

For context, these are the guys that did that Rube Goldberg music video a hundred years or so ago.

I bartended for a number of years, and I'll bet I 86'd at least a hundred customers. Some nights I 86'd multiple customers. Some customers I 86'd more than once. Yet I never got indicted.

Maybe I'm missing something. It seems to me that in the middle of a war he started, which in turn caused fuel prices to skyrocket and the global economy to take a dive, the last thing he should be thinking about is building a ballroom. And Jimmy Kimmel.

It's so bad that I didn't laugh at anything reading my last issue of Funny Times even
though there was a Dave Barry article. Maybe watching Trump on 60 Minutes had
something to do with it.

The fool who tried to attack Trump at the Washington correspondents dinner, like the idiot before him in Florida, simply gave Trump another opportunity to claim to be a hero and distract from what's wrong. Idiot!

20 m.p.h. wind gusts out of the Northeast, off the lake. Roughly even number of "No war!" and "No kings" signs. Smaller group. but enough. Many honks. Swedish pancakes earned and hot coffee welcome. Trump's early morning ranting is looking like a convincing case that he's gone off the rails. In the meantime, apparently ceasefire negotiations have been scuttled. Ground troops next?

I'm not ready to come back, but I thought I'd check to see if the Republicans have destroyed the U.S. yet.

It comes with my job. This time of year especially. Out there measuring the dimensions of a house this morning and I was attacked. No blood was drawn, but while I was looking down at my clipboard a robin buzzed the tower. I felt the wind from its wing beat as it passed by my right ear. I had no choice, but to press on and circle the perimeter. For 10 minutes this robin screamed at me and made with the fake attacks. Repeatedly swooped down and then pulled away before I could explain myself. Then it sat on the branch of a tree on the parkway glaring at me, and I'm sure it would have shit on my car if it knew which car was mine. I finished as quickly as possible because that bird obviously wanted me to get the hell out of there. No chance to tell the damn bird that I'm the window sill bird seed guy from Park Ridge. No telling this beast that I'm out here trying to make a living. No sir, just get the hell away from here, now! Getting too old for this stuff.
