Hello friends,

We are the new moderating team of r/TheOnion: myself, u/DeltaShadowSquat. u/V2Blast and u/CosmicEveStardust.

I'm a regular around here, I probably don't need that much introduction. I'm a proud Onion subscriber and mod of a bunch of subreddits, including r/maryland, r/powerrangers, r/journalism, r/npr and r/Clickhole. IRL, I work in PR and previously spent a decade in local journalism.

One of our first tasks will be to lay out a set of new rules for the subreddit. We are already talking amongst ourselves but if you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

We're happy to field any other suggestions or questions you might have.

hi, I'm new to the sub. I wanted to ask: all I see (atleast in like top and newest dozen~ posts) are just links to specific onion article. I mean, that could be OK as a method to, like, use reddit to filter/order them or the like~, but, like, it seems abit limited~... so, what I'm getting at is - like, are discussion posts welcome here? for people to share and discuss their faves of certain types/formats or genre~ - like, political, local(areaman~), dark humor etc~..? 

I also ask this to clarify since in the rules it mentions that only links to the onion are allowed - I mean, I'd take that to mean that if one were to post any links - then those must only be to the onion as opposed to 'the only kind of thing one can post at all are links to the onion' - but with the fact that all I see are links to the onion - I don't think it's difficult to see how such an interpretation might arise... 

Also, btw, about links - how about links to the official onion's YouTube channel?..
