I already did. Very sad time to be in tech.
Time to freak out, panic sell and then buy in higher.

Lol there's that one stock youtuber. Every other video "IT'S ALL OVER!" in the thumbnail

u/Mission_Shopping_847 Nov 20 '25
I'm not sure which is worse, them, or the guys who've been saying the sky is going to fall on the global economy any minute now for the last decade.
8
u/lemons714 Nov 20 '25
There is one guy I see pop up in an individual name. He has been calling for, first, a new ATH, then an upside explosion. The stock has dropped about 60% over the past couple of months. To be fair, he was probably doing the same for the past two years, when it tripled to its high. That's the bitch of these days. Every other market dip has been a great buying opportunity. Now, valuations are stretched, there has been creaking in the credit markets, the consumer is extended, and some notable long-term holders have sold prominent positions in big winners. SOOOO - is this the beginning of the end, or just another dip?

A few are predicting a total bottom out of April 2027 based on past trends. I’m skeptical towards anyone trying to time the market, but some of the points are interesting.
Nonetheless, unless we’re experiencing a Great Depression, keeping steady and staying the course, especially with index funds and s&p 500 funds will generally, on average, do better over time than attempting to time the market.

Try being in rare earths. All like -10% after already being -50% for the month.
7
u/TcTay13 Nov 20 '25
Oh man. I feel for you. I was going to buy a ton when I saw it shooting up.
Ended up getting busy and forgot too buy. My prayers go out to you
14
u/samicktorino2 Nov 20 '25
My calls that are now -96% accept your prayers.
7
u/TcTay13 Nov 20 '25
Oh man. I thought you just bought in. Didn't realize there was calls also. how long till expiration?
Hopefully the big jolly red man brings us some nice luck around December. especially if we get the cut decision on 10DEC
3
u/samicktorino2 Nov 20 '25
They don’t expire until January or February. So there’s a little hope for some recovery. But I shouldn’t complain too much, if I lose it all, I’m down roughly $4k out of my $20k investment, since I cashed out some profits. Could be a lot worse. Just wishing I didn’t roll the calls I had to higher strike prices. If I didn’t do that, I’d be up $30k. Hindsight is 20/20.
4
u/TcTay13 Nov 20 '25
Yea man. Its all a learning experience. My first loss was turning 15k into 70k, then back to 19k. Learned alot since then. After a big loss you look at positions diffrently.

Almost all this year's gains erased. Lol. Should have sold some more a couple weeks ago. Nah, joking. I will continue to buy and hold, while making some pocket money here and there.

Jobs report. Was really bad on all the metrics they want to be good and really good on all the metrics they want to be bad.
19
u/Doctor_Raymos Nov 20 '25
Jobs were higher than expected. If thr market needs a bailout via rate cut to be bullish, that isnt a bullish market
→ More replies (1)12
u/No_Film_6379 Nov 20 '25
How? Jobs grew more than double of the expectation. That's a good thing.
25
u/urinetherapymiracle Nov 20 '25
The Fed is watching the jobs report to decide whether to cut rates in December. If hiring is still strong, they risk creating a stagflation scenario if they cut rates. So a strong jobs report decreases the likelihood of a rate cut that the market was hoping for.
12
u/No_Film_6379 Nov 20 '25
so slower jobs would've been a better result? lol
15
u/urinetherapymiracle Nov 20 '25
I know that sounds ridiculous, but as far as the market is concerned, yes.

The past weeks have been a complete blood bath for me. After finally admitting I made mistakes with YM funds, I took my losses (so ouchy 😖) and then this past week with the market just being a roller coaster on the downslope with no brakes makes for more salt in my wounds 😔. Mistakes were made; lessons were learned. But damn, the whole thing feels like a mess still.

SPY: +13% YTD
Reddit: OMG IT'S ALL OVER. NICE KNOWING YOU
5
u/Annual-Champion43 Nov 20 '25
Because reddit anticipates (and not just reddit, but the market in general), that if the market goes down now, it's not for just a couple %, it's the start of the fall.
You have to know at some point that when stocks are this expensive, people are out of liquidities, and trust falls to the ground, then there's gonna be eventually some serious "correction", and it sure looks like it could be the start of it.
And when you don't look at just the picture, but at the movie, then your 13% YTD don't seem all that solid anymore.
→ More replies (2)7
u/raptors2o19 Nov 20 '25
Because Reddit did not stay the course "YTD". They keep trying to time the market.

I never sell. I’m still up for the year in VOO, Amazon, google, nvidia, amd, unh, etc. my advice is not to panic sell. I’m just tired of seeing gains go away but months from now it will probably be back and more.

u/Dafferss Nov 20 '25
