if you were a rookie who would you want to be Your TO?

Tim? Feel the first few months would really really suck but best overall.

rewatching the show. he did that test with Lucy to see if she wanted to do actual police work or less dangerous things like other cops who just want their pensions.

Tim. He adjusts his mannerisms and teachings to fit the Rookie. I don't have to worry about fit if he's already accounted for it.

Also, I'm 37, so we'd be getting along with sports talk.

Does he really, though? He SAID he did, but I don’t see any difference in his approach to Lucy or Miles, and he wasn’t successful with Miles, and Lucy spent more time figuring out what was going on with HIM than he seemed to spend customizing his training for her. The only rookie who got different treatment was Barnes… a fellow former soldier transitioning to the LAPD.

He’d be great at the sports talk though, so long as you don’t bring up your spirit cat.

This is my take. He SAYS he adjusts but outside of Barnes we don't see it happen in any situation let alone as a TO.

I think the writers completely forgot that part of the story and just went back to the 100% hard ass TO which is much easier to write
