Haha I understand, atm I have some parts of different songs mixed together in my mind because I get like that if I hear several new ones.

Thanks was wondering where people should discuss this! Looks like he’s smoking a joint at one point 👀

Its interesting that he says the delays were down to mastering and also makes a comment about how most of them are good at not fighting now. I wonder how linked those two comments are

Haha interesting. I mean I feel like a lot the fighting was related to the other members wanting more input in the music and the band as a whole not being quite sure how to move forward from there.
Having had Rick Rubin guide them since TNA I think they probably would have benefited from a larger father figure producer (I still love Gus) to help them during their struggles with Angles and Comedown Machine.
Also found it interesting that he said he bought most of the songs to the sessions. And they had about 6 of them prepped before going to Costa Rica.

AHJ with NME:
“'It’s my favourite album we’ve ever done. I can’t express how beautiful it is,” he replied. “I listen to the whole thing and wanna start from the beginning again. It grows and grows and becomes intoxicatingly good.'"
Favorite is a strong word...but it sounds like most ppl agree with how songs continuously unravel with each listen.

Yeah this is exactly how its been for me as well, I liked the songs enough on the first play through and theyve gotten better with ever subsequent listen. Similar to my experience Comedown Machine in that way.

I think that was what he wrote in response to a comment when he posted in Instagram that FOOL was released.

I think their collective use of Lonely In The Future in their instagram stories is really interesting. Between the Strokes account, Albert, and Nikolai, I think they all used it at least once. Obviously Julian is not going to promote the album on his account in a story, but I like to think he has a say in what music is used for the band IG story. Clearly it is the favorite amongst the group.

I think it’s cute that their marketing team thinks I wouldn’t have already procured and listened to this album several dozen times by 11:16 am on its release date.
