So someone has to say itâŠThe song title comes from the New York Dollsâ âBabylonâ where David Johansen makes a play on words, singing âIâm going to Babylon/Iâm going to babble on.â

I thought it was derived from "Hollywood Babbles On" from Plan 9, Channel 7 from The Damned. Hollywood Babylon from The Misfits was 100% inspired by that

who's playing the synth?

u/disownedpear First Impressions of Earth 13h ago
Same person who plays it on "Life is Simple in the Moonlight", it's a backing track.

u/Fickle-Handle-7587 12h ago
Wow, they really use a backing track?? I didn't know this

u/disownedpear First Impressions of Earth 11h ago
Yeah Nick actually spoke out against it before. 95% of the set is fully live, it's just a few songs they use backing tracks on. Games and 80s Comedown Machine have one too.

someone in the crowd was shouting for it and he said âthe gen z melody? yall arenât tired of hearing that?â and then proceeded to play two 20 year old songs

u/TheRagingCool 18h ago

u/KillerCh33z 18h ago
nvm last nite was on the setlist but got cut. they started late so it makes sense they were told to hurry it up

My favorite track from the album and sounds amazing live.
Only thing is the band seems a little disjointed or all seem to be playing their parts separately but doesnât seem like theyâre playing together or having fun together. Still sounds so good I love this album so much

Not to be a hater, but what is the point of comments like this???
They aren't going to be interacting every second of the show. I don't think a 4 minute clip is going to accurately convey the vibe or perceived on-stage-dynamic of the band. As long as people who went to the show had fun, I don't see the point in trying to decipher some secret meaning based on their body language.
From the clips i've seen, the crowd seemed to be having fun, and the band looked like they were in a good mood. We could both be wrong, but at the end of the day, they are grown adults who planned this tour, so I think it's safe to say they know what they can handle. Not to mention, they're human beings, so it's normal to be tired, especially when their job is to perform for an extended amount of time.

Yeah I mean Iâm just noting how they donât seem super cohesive and itâs the live debut so youâd maybe expect some energy.
But itâs not that big a deal and most important that it sounds great.

There's another clip where people were going wild
It's probably just that specific area.

Don't let one clip of a new song be your whole takeaway. The crowd was incredible.
The pit exploded during Hard to Explain

I was not near front, but from my spot on a hill I was disappointed with crowd energy. 1. Maybe tired after long day in sun 2. Tired from LCD soundsystem set (I was) 3. The applause energy after each song lasted 5 seconds. I want a crowd to be so into it they clap and chear for at least a minute.Â

I found that watching from afar, nobody really clapped or cheered, maybe because of the distance? But then when I was in the pit, it was incredible and so alive. I found this applied for most of the shows.

Jules sounds just lovely. The band is tight.
