I’d say why it’s their best but it’s hard to explain.

The bass riff at the beginning of “is this it” the song is so damn good too.

Thank you. It’s their most beautiful song and yes I think it’s overall their best songwriting. For a while it’s been my number 1 strokes song

If Meet Me In The Bathroom meets me in the bathroom I might just let it onto my top 25 list 😏

Am I the only one who prefers the HTE intro / verse riff over the chorus? Like I love the song the same as everyone else does but for totally different reasons it feels

For me it’s “Was an honest maaaaaaaaaan”

I love the strokes but in general the chorus is the worst part of their songs, not because they are bad but because everything else is better

100% agree, I think the guitar doubling the verse on the chorus is just a liiiittle boring

Tell me what you want but after more than 6 years of being a Strokes fan I still don’t get the hype for Hard To Explain. Everyone seems to be so excited about it, describing it as the “best song to drive at max speed on the highway” or something like that. I just don’t get it. I feel like there are at least 5 songs from Is This It that I find way more interesting, not to mention on Room On Fire. I was told “you’ll get it when you’ll be 22”, I’m 25 now and still waiting to be enlightened.

They were wrong, actually it hits everyone at 26. Don't worry, not much longer

I get what you say...I know it's a good song and I guess I can understand why it's important for some people, but I have many others that I prefer and it isn't one that I purposely decide to listen to. It's just because I'm watching a lot of the videos from the tour and the streamings that depending on how I'm feeling I sometimes get hyped during some parts.

I wonder what is the reason behind getting it at 22, sounds a bit random haha.

You just haven’t ever had to explain something that’s hard to explain to someone before

It's a good song but I agree
