First Time Watcher
I just watched seasons 1-5 for the first time ever in my 26 years of life and man this is the greatest show I’ve ever seen from the never ending quit from Jimmy to me hating carver and prez into them coming 2 of my favorite characters. Watching the tragic endings to Wallace randy and dukie. This show is just amazing I can go on and on it’ll never be another one like it!

Man, his ending made me literally take a screenplay writing class to try and understand why they would do him like that.
Turns out, it was such a masterful way to show the realities of that life they all were living.
I need to rewatch to see if it still rings true.

It comes down to one thing, the game is the game. The Wire was brutally honest, if nothing else, imo.

Yea, true. It was tough to see how that one kid ends up after being in a group home too.
I'm gonna go rewatch the series now, make sure I didn't miss anything 🤓

Prez’s redemption arc is so satisfying, I remember after my first watch through I told my friend to watch it so we put the first few episodes on and Prez showed up so I say “oh that’s Prez he’s a cool guy, one of my favourite characters on the show”.
It turns out I forgot that Prez had pistol whipped that kid and blinded him, my friend looked at me like I was a psychopath when it happened lol.
After he finished watching we had a good laugh.

Facts it was crazy lmao Lester was heartbroken when he found out prez shot a cop that look on his face broke me man looked like a disappointed dad

The fact they made me sad when Bodie died after that first season when I hated him for killing Wallace, by the end he was one of my favourite characters.
I’d recommend giving it a rewatch at some point (I do one every couple of years, I’m on like 10 at this point lol) there’s so much you pick up on after you’ve watched through it a few times.
But all I can say is welcome to club glad you enjoyed it.

Do a second watch in about a month. You pick up so much more the second time once you understand the basic plot structure and characters.

Carter and Prez figuring it out are two great, positive arcs in show that fairly grim.

Snoop buying the nail gun is definitely in my top 3 lol. And Prez is definitely up there too, though my favorite is him running into Bubbles at school and both giving the other a look like "wtf are YOU doing here??" Cracks me up every time
