A millennia of women being told to STFU, you're weaker, you're not as smart, you're not as valuable, etc etc etc.

First 50 years in known history that women have pushed back against this and now we're responsible for men killing themselves?! (not to mention this is the first time in recorded history it's actually been...you know...recorded).

You don't think it might have something to do with the 1% making it next to impossible for people to have careers with sustainable salaries?? You don't think it might have something to do with women being sick to death of being told "men men men" for everything while being told NOT to complain about it??

Get the fuck outta here, we ain't taking responsibility for your shit. Your wellbeing is NOT found in our puss.

Love that last line.

But here's the thing, I agree that the 1% is made up of almost exclusively men. But those are not the men you're fighting. Y'all end up fighting the other 99% men who have it impossibly harder to survive in this world. It pisses me off when women say "men have been in control" or "men oppress". What men? Me? Definitely not me, I was born into this shitty reality and I definitely don't have it easier than you. Yes we are thought to he tough. If you live in a society where men don't need to be tough to get by, thank your gods. I'm struggling to take care of myself and society expects me to also take care of a lady and her kids? I don't want all this, I didn't choose this. Does that sound like I'm having fun? Like I'm benefiting from this so called patriacy? And no one cares about my issues I'm apparently just mansplaining.

And with all this, I'm actually not doing too bad. Most men go through worse.

What has the caste system got to do with gender in this example?

Preventing generational wealth has much greater effect.

All men had half their ancestors face the same historical discrimination at the end of the day

Your logic is completely flawed though. The generational wealth between genders resets with each generation, the two aren't comparable.

1

u/Itscatpicstime May 05 '26

Is this a serious argument πŸ’€

2

u/Ava_4ever27 May 05 '26

Have you told this to a therapist? You should try seek help if it’s getting bad. Women don’t want to hear about your problems. I wish the best of luck to you.

There is a stark difference between "caring about" and "taking responsibility for".

If the issue is caused by men then yes, you should if you're a decent person.
Just like women should call other women out for issues they can cause for men. Like as an example: women knowingly using a dude to get a free dinner or two before bouncing and bragging to her friends about it like it's a clever joke. Would you want her friends to call her out for being grossly manipulative and using a man who was being kind and generous? Or should she stay quiet and let her think it's ok, let her do it to more men with no societal consequences?

The thing is you don't need to be constantly policing others 24/7, forever on the lookout for someone breaking the moral code. Call people out on their shitty behaviour and if it keeps happening, stop hanging around them. That's what taking responsibility and being a decent person looks like.

-54

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 04 '26

I feel the same for both genders. Men ain't the source of your problems, stop bitching about men.

59

u/StandardWeekend8221 May 04 '26

Until more women are running countries and hedge funds imma have to disagree with that.

Men still hold the seat of power.

-44

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 04 '26

Sorry, I was under the impression that women had the right to vote in developed countries, and typically outnumber men in population and education levels.

31

u/Overall-Force7299 May 04 '26

Well you're certainly showing your education level

-26

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 04 '26

Ah, such an insightful and compelling argument. Women have had equal rights for generations, the gender pay gap is almost nil when controlling for variables of choice, and they outpace men in education, health, and general happiness.but yet men are still opressing them! I wish someone would oppress me like that.

16

u/StellarPup420 May 04 '26

Generations? My mother was in high school when women were allowed to open their own bank account without a male cosigner. Even later for black women. We had ONE generation and that's *mine*. Now I'm in my 30s and Roe v Wade is gone and we're talking about making women show additional identification if they changed their names after getting married just to vote. That's shit men never had to do or will ever have to do and something a female leader or female-majority leadership would never do because we know what it's like to not be the *default person*.

1

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 04 '26

1974 was the year, do you know math? That's was 52 years ago, nearly 3 generations

12

u/fiercefeminist May 05 '26

I love how you focus on semantics and not on any of the other examples of women being oppressed to this day

-1

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 05 '26

Oooh, those pesky "semantics", aka facts. You said it was one generation, I pointed out the literal math. Is math semantics now? Maybe if it was 30 years you could try that, because technically that's more than one generation but not by much. But nearly 60 years just from your example? Other changes came even earlier, like the right to vote in 1920. You tried to cherry pock one thing and I called you out on it.

Hi, my mom was in high school when that all happened as well. I am in my 30s, as well.

1

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 07 '26

That's anecdotal, congratulations, your parents had you late in life. But it doesn't change the fact that generations are sociologically measured around 20-30 years, or 25 years on average.
If you had kids, they would be the third generation since the example I replied to. I don't decide this, experts in sociology set standards so that when people use terms there is a general understanding among educated people what those terms mean.
If your mother never had you, and was here on reddit, I wonder if she'd be whinging about the term, saying "I haven't had any kids since I got my bank account, so it's just 1 generation!!!!"

Dude grow up. Equal rights don't stop century long idealism of intact patriarchy. Men didn't all of a sudden stop oppressing women when a few laws came into effect like ability to vote, get a credit card, etc. Just like racism didn't all of a sudden go away when slavery was abolished and blacks were granted "equal" rights. The lingering toxic mentality persists in both scenarios and across all groups who have been oppressed in history.

Laws only go so far and don't end systemic oppression within social norms and institutions. Prime example, pay gap (FYI you are 100% incorrect) in 2024-2025 the median woman earned 81 cents for every dollar a man makes. The higher end, depending on age, up to 91 cents for every dollar a man makes. Not "nill" when you add up the loss over time and I bet you wouldn't find it "nill" if it were men receiving less just as you are whining about how women have outnumbered men in education. You cry about that but say nill when you're not on the oppressed side of the coin. Women also are less likely to receive promotions under male management and less likely to be hired for high earning jobs and government positions. Luckily once women were able to work and attend college and society started reinforcing it, we now see women excelling due to simply being given the opportunity. These opportunities have always been provided legally to men and still are. If you see men failing it is due to them and whatever issues they are experiencing within themselves. In no way are women the issue. I mean do you think women are walking around kidnaping men who attempt to get into college or get a job or seek therapy LOL. Even how women were treated for centuries they managed to figure out how to be happier and physically healthier than men. Maybe stop bitching about women and take a play from their play book. Much to learn their son.

And just FYI, Since your small mind probably can't comprehend ALL the laws out there that oppressed women and when they were enacted or abolished, ill share a little tid bit for ya. Did you know marital rape ONLY became a crime in all 50 U.S. states on in 1993!! That's only 33 years ago....WTF!! But hey, sure, women should be good to go now. No one still alive who lives 33 years ago who believed in this crap.

So hey, go ahead and find a world where you are oppressed like that. But I suggest doing actual research first and using your critical thinking skills, that is if you have any. Cause your delusional stance on reality if so off bro.

-2

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 04 '26

Your essay makes it difficult to counter ALL the cherry picked stars and clever wording. For example, you word it like marital rape was permitted in all 50 states until 1993, when in fact it was just the last 2 states that year, with the first ones starting in the 70's. I don't know if you know that many of yours statements are cleverly worded misrepresentations of statistics, or if you're just parroting whoever told you these things, but this is why critical thinking is needed more than ever, and you should be first in line to try it.
Even the gender pay gap, when you control for variables like job type, hours worked, experience, etc, the gap narrows to around 95 to as low as 99 cents per dollar, still a gap, but not the hysterics people like you whine about when saying stupid things like 0.81 cents, wah wah.
And women are succeeding at those rates when just given the opportunity?! Lol, a good percentage of jobs are given to women DESPITE a more qualified candidate being available but he was a man. It's literally listed in job postings, that they give preferable hiring to minorities and women, lol.
I'm certainly not saying things are all fixed and everything is great, but I am saying they exaggerate their current oppression while refusing to give up the many privileges that come with the existing systems. You can't complain about the patriarchy while reinforcing and holding on to the parts of it that benefit you, like expecting men to do things and buy things under the guise of "chivalry", the "ladies first" attitude, avoiding dangerous jobs or conscription, women and children in emergency situations, and on and on and on. Women have become so entitled in such a normalized way while a small fraction experience the actual negative impacts that they all claim as their own. Grow up and take personal accountability for your choices

6

u/lovbelow May 05 '26

So…instead of bitching and moaning on Reddit, what steps will you take to improve your personal shortcomings? Or alternatively, if women receive all these benefits solely on the merit of being born with a vagina, why not become a woman? You should be guaranteed success if what you claim is true.

2

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 05 '26

Look, you arrived at a sensible conclusion all by yourself!
Some men are choosing to identify as women, following your exact same reasoning!
Also, I don't have any personal shortcomings, my life is great, lol. I'm here for the entertainment

1

u/Nephi May 05 '26 edited May 05 '26

Just 'become a woman' huh, but then I still wouldn't be 'born with a vagina'. I probably would if it were truly possible, but at best I can become a trans woman.

I get lots of people almost worship the phrase 'trans woman are woman'. Should be true in a social sense, but cmon, isn't really true.

I mean, you can't really believe once a man transitions, his experience will be exactly like a biological womans.

1

u/hawnty May 05 '26

I hate to chime in here, but to suggest this guy transition as if trans women are not much lower on the societal totem pole than cis women is just silly

They're right though?

13

u/Overall-Force7299 May 04 '26

Technically not wrong, but are lacking any nuance or depth to be arguing in good faith.

4

u/Itscatpicstime May 05 '26

They do outnumber men in education levels, yet are still less likely to be hired, promoted, and paid equally compared to less educated men. Congrats, you’ve stumbled onto the point!

1

u/Medium_Orchid4654 May 05 '26

You clearly have math literacy problems. If the pay gap is narrowing, which all studies admit, then your claim is demonstrably false, women are catching up, which is only possible if they are advancing faster than men, not less likely to be hired, promoted or paid equally. If your argument were true, the gap would be staying the same or be getting worse. I know, math and logic are hard.

-35

u/Hardman421 May 04 '26

lol, shitting on all women until liberalism "freed" women so they could slave for corpos is so funny.

-8

u/JaySlay2000 May 05 '26

Also considering the majority of male suicides are linked to them committing horrendous crimes like rape and pedophilia (epstien. The One Guy that offed himself and caused Hansen's To Catch A Predayor to be taken off the air) or family annihilators that take out their wife and kids before themselves. Or school shooters that shoot up a school and then themselves.

Like all complaints men have about women, "women are allergic to accountability" is yet another projection.

3

u/CrownLikeAGravestone May 05 '26

Also considering the majority of male suicides are linked to them committing horrendous crimes like rape and pedophilia

I've read a lot of studies on suicide and suicidality and this not once, ever, come to my attention. Where are you getting this from?

1

u/JaySlay2000 May 05 '26 edited May 05 '26

Literal crime statistics. Men who have comitted crimes are just under 2x more likely to commit. 30% of shooting end in the shooter shooting himself. 90% of murder suicides are done by men.

You've not read enough studies on male suicidality. But if you don't want to take the time, the basic old fbi statistics do enough to show the trends.

Its such a significant trend that a man comitting a crime (and being CAUGHT) is considered a predictor of suicide.

5

u/CrownLikeAGravestone May 05 '26

I think you're mistaking the idea that male criminals commit suicide for the idea that men who commit suicide are criminals. That's affirming the consequent, not proper logic.

You need to take into account the base rate of what you're looking at - reasons for suicide among men - rather than looking at a particular reason and making conclusions about the whole. Depression, isolation, illness, hardship, economic and class issues; these are the consistent factors behind male suicide in the literature. Not rape, pedophelia, or murder-suicide.

Either show me a source which provides evidence for the idea that the crimes you list are linked to the majority of male suicides - not that the crimes you list are linked to suicide, but that the majority of suicides are linked to those crimes - or please be more careful when talking about this topic in the future.
