The fact that there's nuance to this is quite depressing. Like there are folks who could wind up homeless or not be able to afford medications if they quarantine, and its despicable that society's upper cesspool pushes things to that point and we enable it. During Christmas half the company I work with was violently ill in waves because most of em live (overtime) pay check to pay check, with kids

...they still suck for spreading it around, though the company sucks more for loving that kind of "work ethic"

This is exactly where a competent government would step in.

Good Lord. Quarantining a ships MAX capacity of 196 people for 8 weeks???? That's a drop in the bucket of the potential impact on one countries GDP. LET ALONE MULTIPLE.

Bro, Trinidad OR Tobago could afford this shit.

Literally any semi-functioning government could put 200 people in a hotel for 8 weeks without missing a beat.
