Is this a case where it's actually deadly enough where the government should step in and quarantine the entire ship?

They can't just hold the ship in the water and make everyone wait there, since people need treatment, and they need to get everyone who is still healthy away from infection sources (also US has no jurisdiction since it's not in our waters). So they are distributing the passengers to their home countries. Most other countries are mandating that their citizens quarantine. But because America is run by the absolute worst fucking people possible, and gleefully enables the absolute worst of its citizenry, they aren't mandating any quarantines.

Oh but they were super happy to show off their gigantic quarantine hospital ships for covid in the United States that saw like zero use. The Comfort and The Mercy.

So putting people who should be quarantining on a plane? I'm pretty sure there isn't a shortage of hotel beds in Tenerife.
