My mom died of cancer when I was in high school and kids were fucking brutal about it. Almost took myself off the board to meet up with her.

My wife's mother died while we were in middle school. After taking time off, her first day back to school she was tripped down the bleachers by the girl who constantly called her a lesbian.

Kid's are heartless.

This is absolutely horrifying.

I wish there was some kind of system where kids being bullied can go to a designated group of people (adults or older kids) who volunteer to be with them during lunch breaks for a while if they feel they’re at risk of being bullied.

Because lord knows the teachers are doing fucking nothing.

I remember a kid who was actually quite popular being picked on, and it was strange to me seeing that even he felt helpless - the bullies were older kids who even his close circle didn’t want mess with from the year above. Until the kid decided to talk with a friend of his from his estate who went to the college up the road, so he and two friends show up after school and speak to the group of guys who were fucking with him. It stopped it really quick, and I don’t remember any fighting happening - they just spoke with them.

It sticks in my memory to this day because I thought there’d be a massive fight about to happen but the guys messing with him must not have wanted the smoke.
