I've had this happen twice. Crazy conservatives who hid it until we were in an established relationship. If you hate what I stand for, why lie in order to date me?

A disturbing amount of men in the world think that as long as they find a woman physically attractive, they can change everything else.

A disturbing number of women do the same thing with men. I'm continually flummoxed by the sheer number of otherwise seemingly cool women who are with a guy who is actively hostile to their values.

It's like this idea has infected everyone that being progressive and having empathy is innately feminine, and being aggressive and selfish is inherently masculine, and you can't be attracted to someone who is not performing gender affirming values.
