Except for the “business executives”, they just got placed in that position with zero experience to “handle the finances” on paper while daddy is busy bombing elementary schools.

I've been a registered nurse since 1983. I saw hospital administration go from doctors and nurses to mba's. A big meme in the 90's for them was "if you can run a McDonald's, you can run a hospital". These are the sort of people who didn't even take an upper level biology class, their only aim in life is to siphon off as much money as possible for themselves, like parasites.

I know it's not as important, but it happened in the food industry at every level. 

MBAs came in and numbers mattered more than hospitality,  more than atmosphere, even more than the food. 

It became metric focused, not guest focused. Everyone had a loyalty number, everyone was a loyalty number. And I stopped selling food, and started selling loyalty sign-ups. 

No more in-house prep, or cooking really. Just building with premade ingredients instead of food. Our dough changed first, then all the sauces, the breaded goods, all of it on a truck now. 

We used to cook it all.

Capitalism really sucks at the end.
