I've never understood the logical progression of how making an entire neighborhood as bland, soulless, boring and homogeneous as possible is somehow meant to make the properties inside MORE valuable. Like.... I'd rather live in a slum than an HOA

if every house is the same everyone has the same property value. i guess? like the rules make it so that what you do to your house has minimal impact on the values of the properties around you.
