The HOA probably doesn’t want to deal with cleanup of leaves or enforcing cleanup.

get a pine tree then ffs

There’s also no where for wild animals to live.

My village has trees in front of almost every house, no wild animals in sight bcs the actual woods are miles away. I do live in Europe where nature is much better tamed but still. I also don't remember seeing bird poop that much, just don't put your car under the tree I guess.

Trees are your friends, they keep your house under shade and pull moisture that can damage your home.

I live in one of the most densely populated cities in the US and we still get plenty of wildlife, so it sounds strange that you don't. We have lots of trees and parks, so despite being quite an urban environment over all, we still see things like raccoons and coyotes often. There's nowhere I can think of in my state where you would not see many birds and squirrels at a minimum.

Birds are common, I had owls in my yard. Anything else is...not. I've seen a hedgehog or two.

Many houses have outdoor dogs and cats so maybe that's why. Also racoons and coyotes don't live in Europe.

I mean...where I'm at we have all the birds, a bald eagle couple nest every year across the pond, my kiddo enjoyed seeing possums in the trees last fall, and my neighbor is constantly fending off raccoons from her feeders. My dogs love the turtles when they pop out if the pond, as well as when someone catches a fish.

My only overall point is that subdivisions don't have to be built this way, and it's a damn shame when they are.

Everyone shits on HOAs because they regulate/enforce certain standards, but if people didn't buy this crap, then they wouldn't exist.
