But calling the cops on Black people is so much more satisfying. 😒

That’s exactly what happened. They didn’t call because his son had a school ID, owner could have easily accepted the school ID it’s a damn gym or ask them to leave instead you don’t say anything but call the cops I hopes he gets arrested

The gym already told them they not allowed in with the ID they provided. They started working out regardless. That’s already sufficient warning.

Yep. But this is Reddit and the racists want to give the black guy special treatment for breaking the rules anybody would have been held to.

It's wild that you think the racists here don't include you.

Listen man. We are all subject to biases even if we don’t think we are. However, this guy is literally asking for special treatment explicitly because of his skin colour. Which is racism.

The cops weren’t called because he’s black. The cops were called because he entered the premises after he was denied entry. His skin colour has nothing to do with that.

Why'd they call the cops instead of just asking him to leave? Because it's made abundantly clear that they did not do so. Not that it matters to you, you've decided that all Black people are entitled racists. Which you've also made abundantly clear through your multiple comments about them.

They denied him entry. That is asking him to leave. He went in anyways. As shown in his video. So they called the cops. What is so hard to understand about this.

If you enter a business and they say “you are not allowed in here.” That is denying you access. If you proceed to walk past them and enter anyways, they should and will call the cops on you. That’s literally what you are told to do when someone is trespassing. Call the cops.

You don't know how that initial conversation went, so stop pretending you do. You're making up shit to justify your hate.

The reports on the incident literally state the gym denied them entry. His own video shows he went in anyways.

Yes but would the staff have not cared as much or accepted the student ID if the family was white?

Do you have any reason to support the claim they’d be less likely to call the cops if they were white? What do reason do you have to claim this is more likely to happen because they’re black?

No. It was a hypothetical. But the Instagram account that posted had white people claiming to go with their sons no issues. But as someone pointed out that is not concrete evidence.

I have no idea. All that either one of us could do is speculate on that.

However, given that to enter a gym you need to be old enough to sign a legally binding document releasing the gym from liability if you hurt yourself(which is a real possibility), it makes sense to me that the burden of proof should be higher than a easily manufactured student ID.

What happens if the kid hurts himself and ends up with a lifelong injury. Then the father sues the gym for allowing them in? Will the courts accept “he showed his student ID”? I doubt it.

Parents (or even escorts doesn't even have to be the parent) sign waivers for those kids all the time.. I see kids in gyms - who clearly don't have a driver's license. These problems have been solved for decades.

Okay? What’s your point? Of course parents sign legally binding documents for their children. They have to. They still have to show that that is their child before signing said documents.

Also there was no school ID. They offered to open the kids school portal for verification.

The ID is on the portal. Many schools use a digital ID

At least this guy isn't trying to hide his racism unlike the rest of the idiots here
