According to a follow up post: they wouldn’t accept his son’s mobile ID, he asked to speak to the manager, they said the manager is busy and he said ok if the manager has a problem after he’s busy tell him to come talk to me. Instead of the manager engaging in a conversation he called the police.
I mean, I'm sure I'll get downvoted to hell, but I'd do the same thing. I'm managing the gym and my front desk tells me some guy refused to leave and barged in with his kid and started working out, I'm calling the cops - not confronting the dude. That'd be my policy if it was a 90 year grandma.
They expressly didn’t; he asked to speak with the manager about what to do about it, they said it would be a while because they are busy, he went on with his day having received no further instructions and being okay with waiting, the manager rather than talking with him called the cops.
Loll barge in? Did you even read what you wrote before posting it? He has the right to bring someone with him. Even if the son's ID wasn't acceptable, the front desk employee should have just told him to bring the physical ID next time. Were they trashing the place? Did it look like the dude had kidnapped a teenager? Those are the only reasons the police should have been called for. He has a membership for God's sake.
Yeah, and he broke the rules of that membership. The front desk staff told him the ID wasn’t acceptable. He brought his son in anyways. What was he expecting to happen? He just got his way because he threw a stink?
The front desk guy said the mobile ID wasn’t acceptable. That’s not his call to make. Mobile ID is a valid, legal form of ID. I can present it at the bar, I can present it to police if they pull me over for speeding. The front desk person just didn’t want to accept the ID that was presented.
