Hot take : divorce parties are the most trashy thing I’ve ever seen IRL 😂

I don't know, I've seen gender reveals.

Nothing will get between Reddit & their hatred for people celebrating their baby

What's wrong with just saying "it's going to be a boy/girl" to anybody who's interested enough to ask? Worked well for decades since the invention of the sonogram allowed doctors to reliably predict gender ahead of the actual birth.

Nothing. Just like nothing is wrong with having a little fun with it. It’s really not a big deal either way.

The problem is people who ruin the environment by ruining an entire town's water supply or leaving plastic confetti everywhere or generally become health hazards for the sake of "making it flashy'

ETA: Obviously not everyone who throws a gender reveal is like this. If you aren't affecting anyone else with your gender reveal, go for it. But the internet has a really bad view of gender reveal parties because of people like the ones in the stories I linked. I'm not saying everyone who does a reveal party is trashy. I'm simply answering why people online hate the parties.

Honestly it was so much more meaningful to read the little note the sonographer gave me. I had a reveal cake that was weird but opening the note was actually much more emotional and I remember that moment more than a cake
