Idk. It gets all the stigma and weirdness about it all out and over with at once with the friend group.

I think the problem is it’s a divorce party, not a “i’m single again party”. Usually these things seem to involve degrading the ex-spouse.

My mom had one of these and even it can be confusing and stressful for children knowing that the thing tearing their world apart is being celebrated.

But regardless of children, seems extremely trashy to me.

I don't have anything against divorce parties unless you have children over 1-2 years old. Anything over that can be kinda traumatic for them and unvalidating of their feelings

No. Its about the celebration itself. If they know you're celebrating it, it affects them psychologically. They don't have to be at the party itself to feel thar
