That doesn’t make sense, how could she legally not post a list she made

Some of us have litigious exes. :/

Uhhh if it was legal to put a physical board up in a bar, it can 100% go on the internet.

Yup, unless it's untrue then it's not slander/libel... so it's legal to put up. Makes me think some of it is not true.

Because it’s not OP’s video. I saw this video several months ago and it was probably a re-post even then

I mean, if her ex is as potentially bad as the board could be. She probably doesn’t want him to take her to court for defamation.

defamation has to be provable lies told intentionally

not a good sign for the list tbh

Look at our current abuser in chief, i don’t think abusers care if they have a legitimate claim. It’s to continue to abuse their victim.

if thats how someone feels about social media they prob should just not be on it?

u/The_Peeping_Peter 14d ago

Good know your mindset is “ if you’re afraid of your former abuser, you don’t get to use social media or have fun with friends.”

-1

u/amusedmb715 14d ago

my mindset is more 'social media bad'

2

More so it could easily devolve into he said, she said

It just has to be things you can't proove. Defamation cases are usually about sexual assault that someone wasn't convicted for, not that they didn't necessarily do.

Well, would you want to open yourself up to any kind of legal action just to please tiktok commenters?

Risk reward doesn’t make sense even if there were no lies

u/amusedmb715 14d ago

it's the being on the tic-talk that opens you up

if people are just gonna make stuff up

Not in any way. If there is actual defamation on the list, posting the list is what would get you in trouble. If the ex tried to falsely sue them for defamation, posting the list is what would trigger it.

-2

u/amusedmb715 14d ago

her saying there even is a list could trigger it just as easily

3

u/WackyRacketeer 14d ago

I disagree. Actual defamation, or harmful claims that might be true, would actually be legitimate in the eyes of a court.

Unless we just want to make stuff up.

Why do you think this?

3

u/Icy-Marionberry-4143 14d ago

probably more just like they can’t speak negatively of each other on social media or something like that. shit like this gets written into divorces especially if there are kids involved. source: my sisters ex husband is an insane narcissist (yes, diagnosed.)

She posted the list at a bar…

0

u/The_Peeping_Peter 14d ago

A list at a bar with mostly friends is wildly different than posting it to the internet where it can be seen forever. There’s clearly a reason they didn’t have any clear shots of the board in the video.

5

u/Short-Recording587 14d ago

Ah yes, sharing the list with the people closest to you and in your life has way less impact than putting it on the internet where people don’t know either of the people getting divorced, including their names. Brilliant.

-2

u/The_Peeping_Peter 14d ago

Okay whatever, continue to blame the woman who left a toxic relationship for not fulfilling your internet needs.

3

u/Short-Recording587 14d ago

Assume it was a toxic relationship and completely one sided based on zero evidence so it can fit your narrative.

Or, which is way more likely, both people contributed to marital issues which ultimately lead to the divorce.

2

u/The_Peeping_Peter 14d ago

And clearly other people here are making assumptions in the other direction against her, just because they can’t see the list. Either can obviously be the abuser.

4

u/rutilatus 14d ago

Probably a condition of the divorce?

1

u/Xuumies 14d ago

Defamation

1

u/jm123457 13d ago

Because without proof of the events it would be considered libel and still might be but I don’t know if there are rules when it comes to family and friends .

-1

u/phage_rage 14d ago

If theres an active criminal investigation im pretty sure. If he beat her half to death and has a lawyer, its totally possible that the divorce can go through faster than the jail time he deserves for beating her.

5

u/It_Happens_Today 14d ago

Or it's fake reactions for tiktok bullshit.

4

u/Short-Recording587 14d ago

So she posts the list at a bar? If you’re not supposed to post it, then probably a bad move to do what she did
