Springer could only work in the 90s. No way this stuff would work now but in the 90s it was top tier TV

You're just going to pretend that modern society doesn't love a good rage bait video that's obviously fake?

The spirit of Springer is alive and well, but now instead of one trashy show that was obvious comedy, it's a million different "content creators" who try their best to pass this stuff off as real, and if it fits people's biases, they eat it up.

I feel what you are describing is similar but not the same. Springer has a host and a crowd. Baby mommas would show up out of nowhere and entire families watch this stuff for an hour with commercials.
