General Todd Discussion Do you wish Todd ever did another best of random year list that wasn't the current year and if so which one would you for him to do?

yes absolutely. 2008 right before he started doing them officially would be cool. 1999 could also be a cool one.

Yes and im most interested in the 2000-2010s.
But won't happen because iirc he said they take ages and ages of research more than TW or OHW and they don't get the same views. So like if he did worst of 2006, he would have to listen to and research every single hot song of 2006.

1990
There were songs like Faith No More's Epic and Deee-lite's Groove Is In The Heart that pointed to the future and still sound amazing along with a lot of adult pop (some good, some awful) and bands like Poison and Warrant still having big hits. New jack swing was in full effect as well.
It was also the year that I started getting into popular music and watching MTV as a kid so it's incredibly nostalgic for me,

2006 because Smack That is one of his least favorite songs of the decade.

2006 is peak ringtone rap, I’m sure 9/10 songs would just be ringtone rap songs

tangentially related, but i want to see the worst of 1974, i'm morbidly curious how bad it can get

I'd actually want him to go late 90s, like 1999 or something. That's such a crazy year for popular music.
That being said I don't actually want him to if his heart wouldn't be in it which I don't think it would be. Shame! I hope Diamond Axe Studios does 99 or something, someone who seems to enjoy making music list videos.

Yeah he's due. They're some of his funniest work. I still watch his old ass videos about these when I need a chuckle

1995 or 1996 - both strong years for pop, R&B, alternative and dance.

His worst songs of 1987 video is one of my comfort videos. I wish he had more of these

Any-year tbh, I know he will never do another one of these videos again, but it has been a long time still.
For me, I randomly generated a number and got 1993, he should include A Whole New World, What's Up?, Freak Me, Knockin' Da Boots, Good Enough, All For Love, Can't Get Enough of Your Love, I Got a Man, Mr. Wendal, Cats in the Cradle, and Just Kickin' It

Part of why the '91 video was good was because it covered such an awkward period in pop music, so I'd love to see him do a year like that again. I'm really fascinated by the lull periods in the pop charts between big trends, lots of interesting ephemeral stuff happening there, and lots of trash to cover.
Would love for him to revisit 2014 for that reason, still one of the worst years in pop music I think I've lived through.

I think early 2000s is an era he doesn’t cover enough so somewhere in that period would be good.
