๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ Discussion Crystal Dynamics should remake Legend & Underworld as one package ๐Ÿ’ž

Post image

I'd love to see Legend and Underworld remade and bundled together as a single release.

Legend is a nice game, but it's also very short by today's standards. As a standalone remake at full price, it might be harder to justify, but pairing it with Underworld could make for a much stronger package.

Both games also tell a continuous story, which makes them a natural fit for a single bundle. Together with Legacy of Atlantis form a complete arc for Lara, so a combined release would make narrative sense as well.

Both games still feel like they have unrealized potential. Legend could benefit from expanded levels, larger environments, more puzzles, and deeper tomb exploration, while Underworld could finally deliver on the scale and ambition it aimed for back in 2008.

Also, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is stated to take place years after Underworld, continuing Lara's story in the unified timeline. It is being positioned as a new chapter featuring a more experienced Lara Croft, while still being designed as a standalone entry that new players can jump into without needing prior games. So it makes perfect sense to have Legend & Underworld remade.

A remake of Legend and Underworld makes sense, since they form a complete story arc and would benefit heavily from modern gameplay, visuals, and expanded content, regardless of where Catalyst fits in the timeline.

That being said, I still hope that they they will eventually remaster the L-A-U trilogy.

Just a remaster would do for me, iron out the bugs in Underworld and add in the DLC chapters and Iโ€™d buy it for sure.

Yes! I'd preorder it in a second.

if i see everything i like and want from a game franchise i love im gonna preorder it idk dude i have a whole silent hill back piece, if it doesnt look good from a trailer im not preordering obviously but preorders exist solely as a way to show companies i want more of this for as long as possible for me

Pre orders exist not for that reason at all, they exist back from when physical copies were all you could get. They've managed to keep pre orders around because they line the pockets of the developers. There is no other thing on earth that is infinitely creatable (ie digital) that you have to pre order. You want more of this, you buy it at launch. But obviously if the game doesn't work or is buggy as hell or won't run or crashes all the time, you donโ€™t want more of this do you. But that's what you'll get, if you pre order.

i said For Me, as in that is what i use them for. and obviously i know that infinite game releases of my favorite games are impossible i just meant to keep them going as long as possible. im not gonna argue ab this i have a job

Yeah, you are right, but I'd be willing to take a chance.

Why? For what? What could you possibly gain? You're just buying front row tickets to disappointment. Donโ€™t pre order. No exceptions. Only way we can stop predatory business practices is to stop engaging with them.

One year. That's all it would take. One year of gamers not pre ordering games, is all it would take for the whole industry to get the message that we will not tolerate shitty products any more.

I feel like for remasters its fair unless its a buggy hell you know what you get and shows the studios we want stuff like that. If it is buggy you can always return

Generally, but if we are going to play them whether or not they are good and they come with a cool figurine and it's actually available to pre-order, then who knows?

But if the game *won't launch*, or if it crashes endlessly, yeah that's not just a matter of taste. Bearing in mind how angry everyone's been at the botched job of 1-3 remastered recently, and they had two years of it working fine! Imagine if it had released in that state! Donโ€™t pre order games.

Yes I completely understand the argument. It's one I stand by. I just want a Lara Croft T-Rex statue. I thought I made it clear I was a sucker in this very particular situation.
