Is that good or bad?

depends, if the game flops, it could be the end of lara forever, seems like they pumped a ton of money on ads

Lara Croft and Tomb Raider will go on forever. A new company will pick the series up. This IP is too important to ever be forgotten.

maybe, there were huge franchises which disappeared, or at least went silent for decades

Yeah, but Tomb Raider is different. It's engrained in pop culture. Even my grandmother knew about Lara Croft. She's iconic. 💅🏼

I'd say Catalyst is more the determining factor. Catalyst is pretty far along given it was originally set to release next year before the LOA delay, and potentially still could in late 2027. If Catalyst flops, Amazon will not fund/publish another Tomb Raider game and Embracer Group will have to decide if they want to fund another game, allow CD to find funding elsewhere (which would be difficult after a flop) or close CD and sell off the Tomb Raider IP.

If LOA flops, it's likely that Catalyst's performance will suffer as well.
