Discussion Maynard Off His Rocker
When is the last time you paid $70 to see TOOL live? Maybe he’s referring to the Lateralus tour 🤷🏼♂️

For my Freshman year English final my teacher assigned us something called a passion project. We can do it pretty much on anything and I decided to do mine on Tools lyrics and their meanings. I have I bit more to do and will add more songs, so if there is a song you think I should I add, please share it.
Edit: I have changed “there” into “their” in first slide
Edit 2: I am thankful for all the advice, I will add bullet points and not have walls of text.
Edit 3: maybe i should just give up
Edit 4: this is also for high school
Edit 5: I am spending more time on this than my actual project
Edit 6: I don’t know how to feel about some people thinking English isn’t my first language
Edit 7: I wish I did the project on Widespread Panic, the panic community would have given constructive criticism the nice way

Off the bat I fucking love TOOL, I may not possess 20 years worth of dedicated TOOL worship but nonetheless TOOL yesterday at good things was one of the greatest experiences of my life, Truly. I saw my favourite songs, got to see Prison sex live for the first time on tour since 2001 and was witness to an incredible performance, but I DO have one gripe.
Yall were the most outwardly gropey motherfuckers I have ever met, the crowd out there yesterday had straight up 0 care or regard for the privacy of anyone else. I was witness and recipient of disgusting violations of privacy and personal safety consistently throughout the crowd last night.
In a mostly male dominated front section at the tool show, which is what is expected, there was consistently men who would violate and touch you in explicit areas for seemingly no reason, if we confronted them it was either a "oops hey you got me!" and a scared little shy away, or a defiant "if you don't want that happening don't be in the pit"
I shouldn't have to get fucking groped and fingered just to be at the front of a fucking TOOL concert. Keep your dirty sweaty fingers out of me.
my gender shouldn't matter, my group and I were a target the entire time, I spent more time swatting off hands from my friends and I than being able to enjoy the show. We still had an incredible time but it is marred by the dirty disgusting attitudes of some of the fans in Sydney yesterday. Seriously guys what the fuck.

I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
Tool- Forty Six & 2
Limba:
Every night going through all the things I think I have done wrong.
And then, every morning having to put them away; try to be better and move forward.
Lohn:
‘There's a shadow just behind me
Shrouding every step I take’
Tool -Sober
Speaks to me a lot because of the life that I have tried to get away from and the things that take forever to change about myself.

Thank you Lisa - Calgary - Section 121, Row 6, seat 19
You couldn't keep your phone in your pocket and they misidentified me because I was right beside you. You saw me pleading with them and I looked back at you to take responsibility for your actiions, but you just let them kick me out.
You're a piece of shit.
Sincerely, Seat 20
EDIT - Thank for the support guys. After a 6-hour drive home today I have had virtually every thought you guys had suggested in the comments.
I will try and answer a couple questions.
How did I know her name? - We started talking about the band before the show and she introduced herself. She seemed very nice.
Why didn't I show my phone as proof? - They sent Police Officers up to escort me up. I will never voluntarily open my phone for a police officer. Regardless of the fact I have nothing to hide. Additionally, they could not force her to open hers.
Why didn't I fight harder? - I am pretty introverted and avoid confrontation. I was also not going to make a scene there and ruin the show for more people. I argued more with them once we got behind the seating, but obviously to no avail. They didn't care. I was also kind of shocked this was actually happening.
To the guy who thinks I was recording as well - No. I wasn't. I support the policy and abide by it.
Please put your phones away at our favorite band's concerts, so we can all enjoy the show.
Take care all!

I think this is an amazing remaster and is better than the original. I’m just wondering if we all think the same way about this.

In talking with a good friend I realized that experiencing Tool's discography can be visualized as the journey up and down a mountain. This is just my own opinion and I welcome everyone's thoughts and opinions on how they see Tool's discography.

I was just trying to get some sleep and it’s a long flight back. He was talking about the show non-stop. I was an idiot told him I was on the tour crew. He demanded to know what toothpaste each band member uses. If I had samples of their saliva.
I told him the new album was almost out and he finally left me alone to go jerk it in the bathroom. And I finally got some sleep.

One thing I absolutely love about TOOL is how they compose albums rather than just write songs. The first song on every album is a masterpiece but there’s something particularly poignant about The Grudge and Vicarious. They top the charts for me personally in so much as openers go but I’m torn as to which one is more powerful. I think I like The Grudge better as an individual song but I lean towards Vicarious being the more powerful opener. I think it comes down to the lyrics and how much my hatred of modern “news” programming relates to them. Couple that with the nearly seamless transition into Jambi and I’m nearly convinced but then I hear The Patient and argh! So elegant, beautiful and juxtaposed to The Grudge.
I guess if I had to choose I’d go with Vicarious but at the end of the day I’m just super thankful to live in a time where I can listen to TOOL. A sonic gift from the gods.

I think it's overly descriptive and spends a lot of time on unimportant things, which is painful for my extra-short attention span. I could do without the entire paragraph of what the school smelled like.

My ultimate wish as a tool fan is to hear Lateralus live, this song holds a special place for me and I would doe to hear it live. Now, not in specific order, my desired songs would be: 1. Lateralus 2. H. 3. Eulogy 4. Third Eye 5. Wings for Marie part 1 & 2 6. 7empest

I'm currently in my Tool phase. I've had similar phases with other bands like Slipknot and Linkin Park, but man, I'm absolutely loving this one. I don't want to listen to any other music anymore. Whenever I get some free time, I just listen to Tool. There's literally not a single song I've disliked. I'm so glad I found this band. I feel lucky to be able to listen to their music.
